told him he needed to wait.

That leads me to think that there might have also been a couple of other silent db commits yesterday and we are waiting to see how things shake up before accepting his commitment. This is only my guess, not solid info.

I guess I wpuld think if you were at a select eventlike that it would be a situation where you'd take a commitment. Maybe the individual isnt as sure for some reasonas the coaches would like them to be

Hard to know the truth. Dabo also turns down commits if they won’t agree to no other official visits. So who knows.
