ESPN (SEC) and FOX (B1G) are laying waste to college football programs across the country. Hence these desperate moves by SMU, our suing the ACC this week, etc.

It took their big money oil donors about a week to raise 9 years worth of funding to cover that lost revenue. They didn't bat an eye at the terms.

They were desperate, and let's be honest, the ACC adding the 3 teams was likely because they knew they (the ACC) would be losing at least 2 teams soon.

SMU becomes a full member and starts collecting TV revenue if the ACC loses members.
I do believe they are betting on a few teams leaving in the near future.

I kinda feel bad for SMU, their media value is worth more than a few other ACC schools and they are the ones taking the biggest pay cut and the conference is about to blow up just as they are arriving.
