I hope so. He has given Clemson all he has for 14 years. He deserves that.

Brad Brownell: Only Larry freaking Shyatt has a WORSE overall winning percentage among Clemson basketball coaches since 1975. Let that sink in. It's Larry Shyatt & then Brad Brownell.

it is not... this team will put together a run to close out the season hot. I do not know if it will be enough to get where we need to be unless we can go deep in the ACCT.

I thought at the beginning of the season this was going to be BBs team.... let it play out to see if it is. We have the pieces in place to be very special. It ain't over till its over.

and felt like they could win the next game no matter the opponent- but the way this team has been playing, I find myself waiting for the worst to happen like seeing a 23 point lead drop to 4 and then a totally botched last possession that could have won the game.

Yeah I agree. Louisville game should have told us something. L love the players but we do not have the talent and hoops smarts to win most close games and that showed we dont have it. GT and Louisville should have been no problem GT bit us and Lou would if they could shoot anything but ft's.

With much respect, I disagree on one point. This team has talent! In fact, the most I’ve seen in many years. The problem is not this years players and I 100% believe this! If one sits in the stands and watches it becomes very obvious. Regardless of how this season ends, a change must take place if Clemson basketball wants to be anything more than mediocre. What’s really sad is for the players on this team.

Go Tigers!

If we brought in an interim coach we would mostly put a run together. This team has a lot of great players. They are slow and struggle with fast athletic guards, but in this ACC finishing outside the top 5 in.league is mind boggling. Brownell must go. He has been given more than a fair chance at Clemson. He couldn't get it done. Let's thank him.and his family for their contributions to the school and the community and move on. It just didn't work out.

Great players hit shots. This team does not consistently hit shots. We have a team of mostly average Joe's. This has been true of our team for at least the last 20 years.

Sure, just because it's never happened before doesn't mean it can't happen this year.

Just look at the last few games...

Neff didn't fire him when he had the chance in the offseason. He won't have the guts to pull the trigger mid-season. There's no guarantee he gets fired after we don't make the NCAAs and get bounced from the NIT based on previous decisions. Sad, because I want our basketball to be good.

I've always felt and stated it was a ledger sheet decision - the bottom line just would not hold him being bought out last year for millions and millions. Budget considerations. I expect, however, that will not hold this time, as he's put in another year now and the buyout is perhaps more affordable at this point. I don't know the numbers, but that is my sense. We'll see. BB was never going to suddenly coach up a good tourney team just because of being on the hot seat. His coaching prowess is what it is, won't change. So I expect him gone this time.

The buyout is less if we fire him before May.

Fired between May 1 2023 - Apr 30 2024: $85k per month remaining

Fired between May 1 2024 - Apr 30 2025: $125k per month remaining

Fired between May 1 2025 - Apr 30 2026: $250k per month remaining

I could see giving him the hook early if we had a young, up and coming assistant that we could give a shot to see his coaching style. Unfortunately our coaching staff consists of only geriatrics and toddlers in the coaching world.
