The Buzzards are Circling at MSU

Unsure if posted already but a sad tale of recruiting and the poaching of other teams players. Within days after the unfortunate and untimely death of Mike Leach, the bar has apparently reached its lowest point. At the same time of the condolences and accolades from the public, other coaches and Universities, some behind the scenes were reaching out to MSU recruits and current players trying to poach and referencing the death of their coach and how it would affect their future.

I understand all is fair in war however, this one sure seems like a new low. Read it over the weekend and it took me a long while to digest. No limits and apparently no conscious in recruiting and tampering in CFB.

it was only because they had their heads stuck up their own a$$es and simply chose not to look.

They've created a state of disorder due to a disregard for the rules and that lawlessness is rewarded.

I read an article a couple of days after Coach Mike Leach's death. The author stated that he had heard rumors about other teams already tampering with MSU players, but he didn't have any concrete evidence, yet.

He wrote that he would expose those tampering if he found the proof.

He ended the article by saying that, if the rumors were true, college recruiting had sunk to its lowest level ever.

I have not seen any follow up articles.

But exactly how long are coaches supposed to wait to contact MSU recruits and players? Five days? A week? A month?

What do you consider appropriate?

I think no coach should ever be able to contact a player that is on scholarship. Players should be allowed to contact other programs after the season is over and scholarships have not been offered. That way it shouldn’t matter if the coach was fired or died.

Other schools aren't supposed to contact other players at all unless they are already in the portal potty.
There are no rules right now (that are enforced).
