The NIL is not "fine". It's horrendous. Student athletes at State owned schools shouldn't make millions from association with schools receiving my tax money that goes towards funding of school that pays their education, housing, medical, food, training, tudors, clothing, transportation, utilities, etc., for their commitment to the University. This was all non-taxable income a student athletes. Plus they are paid around $5800 annually in stipends. Money that was approved for living expenses and offered to help their families pay for travel and tix to see them play in NCAA sports. This is not fine.
Let them skip school and go straight to NFL, let the kids that understand the value of education and commitment attend the universities.
Thats my .02 worth.

For decades, coaches made tons of $$$$ and came and went whenever they wanted. Still do this. But now, they are getting it thrown in their faces. Chaos? Yes. But the schools, the NCAA and the coaches brought this about.

You sound just like a democrat. Blame the handful of high price coaches and never give them credit for the work and sacrifices they put forward. These entitled kids think they deserve the same thing these coaches make just for stepping on campus.
It’s always the CEOs and coaches fault. But I bet you think the Hollywood stars and politicians making millions is just fine.

Don't be ridiculous. If the leaders of college football had been more conciliatory in their attitudes toward the players over the decades the game would not be so messed up today. Instead, they were content in making millions and treating the players like low level employees. In saying this, I am not for unregulated transfers and opt outs, nor do I like it when programs use NIL $$ to recruit. I'm simply saying that the entire thing was bound to crash at some point because of the greed and stupidity of the college leaders.

I would have much rather been getting a college education for free!

I think it will just be different, but still great. There will have to be some adjustments though. The 12 team playoff will make it as good as its ever been, but the NIL still needs some adjustments.

The next natural step is a college football player’s union. That move will be the ONLY saving grace in all of this, and there are no finer group of despicable creatures than the “football universities” that will deserve that LABOR UNION.
