I do understand their argument that the ACC brought in 3 new schools to win a vote that FSU, Clemson, and UNC refused to vote their way.

Happy that Florida State is moving forward with this. I believe Clemson is smart to wait and watch as the Seminoles are the sacrificial lamb in this initial process. Other conferences (SEC and Big10) will be watching closely also. Thinking the dominoes will start to fall eventually and the Tigers will no longer be in the ACC.

When you look at it from a legal standpoint, this was the plan by FSU and Clemson bc, if the court swings in the favor of the ACC and gives reason, then Clemson would have the right to come in and challenge the courts reason in another lawsuit....

wonder if there is room to challenge espn on the fact that they set to lock the acc teams in this massive deal all the while colluding to make the other conference super strong money wise and team wise. keep in mind they colluded with texas and ou to get them into the sec

As I read this I was thinking same, tentacles on this will reach far and into the GOR negotiations etc. the best path for ESPN should be to renegotiate at todays market terms and avoid a very public suit. My bet this is path it ends up.

I applaud Florida St for having the courage and you know what

To do this!
That figure (500 million + ) is insanely scaring. It took courage and also leadership from their AD, BOT and President. They could have attacked this with other schools which would have been more comfortable but apparently none are ready to go public so soon. Again, I would be very proud of my administration if I was a Florida St fan and alumni.

I can only hope Clemson is working behind the scenes and doing our due diligence as well. However, for the first time I’m not so confident we are. I do believe we’ll leave but I’m starting to wonder if we’ll be apart of the second wave. Maybe financial that’s the smart thing to do but I could now see us waiting a year or two after the Seminoles leave.

As a Clemson fan, I’m scared. I know what we bring to the table so I’m not concerned by that (being wanted by another conference) I’m scared that perhaps we’re caught with our pants down hoping the Div 1 Football teams break away rather than conference realignment.

We’ll see how all this plays out in the coming months and years.

Congrats F St! Your administration is courageous and bold!

Go Tigers!!

Not so bc together as one, if one loses in court, they all lose in court. Going at them one school at a time leaves the door open for other schools like Clemson to build a defense against the court ruling if necessary!!!

This is just a general reply, and not to this poster. Idiotic move! Good luck and good riddance, dou*_e-bags!! Not a brilliant move, and further . . . who cares? Florida State, with advice of counsel, willingly signed the agreement. It does not matter if it "was under duress". They signed it with the advice of counsel. Silly argument now that they want out of it. The Court will say "you willingly agreed to it, now live with it!"

To all of the other "geniuses" out there who want out of the ACC because we are not collecting some nebulous $30 million per year- wake up. We have one of the best coaches and one of the best football facilities in the nation. We did not need the extra alleged $30M per year to get that! We did all of that and won two natties without the alleged $30M per year!

Concerning the Big10 joke of a conference. Tell me please, who other than OSU and UM has even contented for a Big10 title in the last ten years? Crickets! So if this alleged $30M per year, that every other team in the sorry-A$$ed Big10 not named Michigan and OSU was receiving - how much did it help them? Answer: None!! And why is that? No history of winning and no coach named Dabo Swinney.

You could give every sorry team in the Big10 a gazillion dollars per year and they would still suck!! When are you geniuses going to understand that it not about how much money the program gets paid by the conference? Ask Texas A&M how the "big money" from the SEC has worked out for them? They had a gazillion dollars available to them BEFORE they ever joined the SEC because of their huge alumni base.

The almighty SEC, with all of their money, is still only about Alabama, Georgia, and sometimes LSU. This so called big money has not worked out for the rest of their sorry conference. Just ask the chickens. How has the "big SEC money" worked out for the cheerleader Shane Beamer?

Clemson is just fine perennially contending for an ACC title. We would not do that in either the SEC or the Big10. Clemson fans, and sorry FSU fans for that matter, stick to the ACC and be happy. Good gracious!!!!

I am glad FSU has the guts to do this and we will how this goes and see if Clemson an UNC follow suit. It is interesting the language and some of the FSU legal team says as far as what FSU states it is against as what the ACC has done regarding the GOR and media rights.

Clemson and any other school interested in leaving should file a class action lawsuit along with Florida State. There is powers in numbers when groups band together. We have a great coach and get the point some make that we will still recruit well. At some point or another the extra money the SEC and BIG 10 is making will put their facilities way ahead of the other conference's. Go Tigers!!
