The word "toe" is not in that article you linked up. Where did you get that?
HOWEVER, the original comment about not being out long at all appears like it was way premature and just flat out off.

I got it from some of the posters in the thread and on other message boards.
That said, David Hood never officially revealed the injury -- but there were other spots I keep up with Clemson that were saying a similar thing was heard in that it was a broken toe. (Though, nothing official).
Nevertheless, this was the first time that I had specifically heard it was something like a broken foot.

It's not an article -- it's a board post from David Hood.
Now, David Hood didn't specifically say a toe injury -- but there were plenty of other posters commenting that the word on the street was a toe injury and it seemed to be running around multiple boards too.
Sure, it was never an "official" article post but that was the closest we got to actually having some word on what the injury was.

Might as well accept XT at his word ... he's got broken bone(s) somewhere in his foot. Period.
Doesn't matter anymore about what the previous reports said about his toe.

more. He knows that he is literally costing himself a lot of money with every game he misses. But, he must also take the smart long view, if he tries to come back too soon and reinjures this foot again, he could be done for the year, and his draft hopes will be completely gone. And, regardless of talent, the odds of making a team as a D-End as a UDFA are long, very long. If some of our future opponents continue to play well, this is not the last chance he will have to showcase his ability in a big game.

Feel bad for the kid reading those comments. Really rooting for him. He took a lot of abuse when he committed to us over Coots. His career has not gone like most thought it would but he has never wavered in his commitment to Clemson. I hope he comes back for the last half and has 10 sacks!

He'll know when he's 100%, It sucks its taken alil longer than we'd hope. But I'd rather have him FULL GO than half to half-@$$ it and not do what he's capable of doing.

XT has a great perspective. This must be very hard on him. When it is his time, XT will be ready to shine. Fans need to be patient. It's not easy for us fans either because we know XT can be a game changer.

I don't know about y'all, but I miss the days of the team voting to stay off social media until after the season. Especially twitter. Seems like the team was more focused then. IDK, just a thought.
