RE: Transfer Portal Recap

Dec 13, 2021, 9:42 PM

Coach Swinney,

As requested, I have narrowed down the top prospects in the transfer portal for your review. In my opinion, our focus should be on depth, or proven lettermen and grad students, as well as cultural fits.

1. Victor Oluwatimi : Victor is a 6’3, 310 pound center or interior line grad student from Virginia. He has graded consistently as one of the top run blocking prospects in the country. He finished the season with 32 straight starts. Former walk-on.

2. Kayden Lyles : Kayden is a 6’3, 325 pound center or interior grad student from Wisconsin. He has shown promise, but was beat out for a starting center position after being highly revered out of high school. He can play all interior positions. He will give you size, strength and experience with one of the best lines in the country.

3. Isaiah Garcia-Castaneda : Isaiah is 6’0 slot type junior receiver out of New Mexico State. He started at a JUCO and has worked his way to a potential Power 5 starter. NMSU has struggled mightily in the passing game, but Isaiah tacked on 35+ catches with a 15.5 average. He shows big play ability and the ability to separate.

4. Jaden Blue : Jaden is a 6’0 slot type receiver out of Temple. Jaden is a grad student who wants to make a name for himself after a great career up north, including a 1000-yard season his sophomore year. He lacks the big play ability of Isaiah, but has plenty of play-making ability. He reminds me of a mixture of Artavis Scott and Cornell Powell.

Others include safety Michael Dowell from Michigan State, another grad student, and also Albany defensive end Jared Verse. Verse is an NFL pass rusher, but a hot commodity I fear we have missed our chance on due to how slow we played this.

As far as quarterbacks, we will have to set up a meeting at a later time.

Also Mike Noonan says you owe him a hundred bucks since he won the bet and won the next natty. We’re all getting together this weekend at Taco Bell and he wanted to make sure you showed face.

Let me know if you have any questions. Go Tigers.

Regards,

Ralph Sharpton | Assistant to the Traveling Secretary and Assistant to the Regional Manager - Junior Transfer Portal Analyst

Can't we just copy Alabama's plan?

They have been talking to Oluwatimi. He seems excited about the opportunity.
