Is that you Coach Pearman? Pretending the portal or transfers in general have never resulted in impactful players is just ridiculous. Do you think we could have benefited from maybe just one serviceable transfer portal QB or Offensive lineman last year?

Sure would have been nice if Clemson had picked up Jameson Williams from the portal last year instead of Bama.
He done pretty well as has most of the transfers Bama has taken. If Bama can do if year in and year out, then why can’t Clemson?
I don’t see anything where the transfers have caused “culture” issues at Bama.

That was only last year....and that was with a completely sh*ttie Oline.....since then, the OLine coach has "retired" new blood has emerged and recruiting is getting to where it should be in that position group.

I hate the current rules too. But I love what Saban does. He’s poaching major programs for studs that want to step in an play for him. Imagine how much better we would feel about the offense if Dabo grabbed up a few quality lineman and a top end WR.

I feel pretty good about the program right now. Not sure adding an unknown quantity to the locker room at this point in the season would make me feel any better.

like Dabo to go after. Provide their high school stats, college stats, personality profiles, background checks, high school coach reports, grades (high school and college) and current player(s) on the roster they would replace. Or are you just the "idea" guy?

Much more he could do. And judging from the fall practice reports, we appear not to,have really needed them anyway. Maybe those guys realized we didn’t need them?
Now ... exactly what top-end WR did he miss out on who was actually poised to commit to Clemson if only he’d received an offer? A name please.

One of these guys has already transferred once and has only played in 9 games over the last 4 years and the other wasn’t going to make the 2 deep at Arkansas. This is news????
I agree with Pittman. If you don’t want to be here, leave. The rules have made it a lot easier for a guy to leave but most of the them still aren’t going anywhere else and making an impact.

We shouldn’t be at all surprised if guys at top programs who don’t like their position on the depth chart enter the portal. Those guys were likely highly recruited and aren’t interested in riding the pine.

Haven’t seen a lot of that so far but it does happen. I know we lost at least one RB this time of year last year but we all know how that turned out for him too. I was mostly using the example of the 2 guys in this article. I think less guys leave the top programs because even the backups at those programs are recognized as being very talented.

Not at all. I wasn't suggesting Dabo go after either one of those guys. I was thinking more along the lines of "This is the kind of kid you want to stay as far away from as possible."
