If the election were held today, maybe Trump would win? He hasn't been convicted of anything of a criminal nature yet.
The stench of some of his activities is lessened by some of the stench of Biden's actions with classified documents and some of the information dribbling out about Biden Inc.
The election is roughly 10 1/2 months away. If Biden is smart, he will take up some of the GOP proposals about immigration. Inflation is declining, GDP is up, COVID has receded from the public consciousness.
Abortion will be talked about incessantly though the decision of each state now will determine what happens and regardless of who is elected President, they will have no role whatsoever to liberalize or tighten abortion access. The public has factored their vote for President in over abortion for years which has been dumb and still is. There will be no bill for a President to sign regarding abortion.
Biden is not Trump. That will be the other issue. Trump will be painted as Adolf Hitler in waiting even more.
Initiatives on abortion will be placed on state's ballots to drive up Dem votes for Biden or another Dem nominee.
Biden however is not mentally fit to be President. That will not improve with time and any stumbles either physically or mentally will hurt him. He can't fix that short of staying out of the public eye, which will be done as much as possible.
Biden will refuse to debate Trump most likely.
It's too early to know what will happen, but the weird deal is virtually any Democrat besides Biden probably beats Trump and any Pub besides Trump probably beats Biden.
Yet, we probably get to choose between 2 bad retreads with few miles left on them, unless you're willing to go 3rd party which I personally am.
It will be a very nasty campaign for sure.

There will be some ugly ads. Trump has definitely given the Dems a lot of ammunition.

Biden isn't mentally fit to be president because he is a very old 80. Some people are still young at 80. On the other side, Trump isn't fit for office because, one he is an idiot, he is delusional, and finally he is mentally ill. He is a fraud. Neither should be president.

70% of that was good. Other than not realizing that Trump is not mentally fit for office and that Biden will debate Trump if Trump debate. Is Biden up to it? Who knows? But he will do it. Trump doesn't like debating now. He would get ripped to shreds had he tried in the primaries. Thats part if the reason he hid. He could only lose and there was no upside for him. He made the right call.

It's very simple why he didn't debate.

He had absolutely nothing to gain, and everything to lose. He is trouncing everybody already and doesn't need to debate. And yes, there is a chance he could lose some votes by debating, so why do it?
From a strategic standpoint, he's doing the right thing without question.
Also, I don't think Ron is defending Trump in any way, or implying anything regarding his fitness to be president. He is simply pointing out Biden's very obvious and undeniable age-related deficits, ones which do not seem to affect Trump.

overestimating the intelligence of the average voter. The abortion issue is going to reign supreme in 2024 again.
In one of the debates, Haley deflected the abortion question by answering (correctly) that the President and Congress would have no say in who can get an abortion and who can't. But, the Dems will shout from the rooftops anyway that a woman's right to kill her baby must be protected - and the single-issue voters will storm to the polls (like they did in 2022).
I think Biden will debate Trump - he seems to be able to be coherent for short spurts, so his handlers will time it up so that his coherent moment hits at debate time.
I'll be voting 3rd party as well. It is unfathomable that we'll have to choose between these two again...

Personally, I think DeSantis would be a good president, as far as presidents go,

especially given the available choices. I think DeSantis's biggest "negative" is his personality, his lack of charisma. Love 'em or hate 'em, people like Bill Clinton, Ronald Reagan, JFK, Obama, Trump, etc., have it in spades. Even the George Bushes had it to some extent. Next to all of them, DeSantis, though bright and fiercely committed to his beliefs, appears a bit awkward and wooden, and it doesn't serve him well.
