Sorry to hear that. Cancer comes in so many forms and great progress has been made with many cancers.
However, this myriad of diseases called cancer still takes far too many of us. At present roughly 40% of us will receive a diagnosis of cancer, but again many are indeed being cured or have significantly prolonged lifespans.
Again, sorry for the loss of your former partner. It truly sucks.
