It's funny b/c it's a funny line. Still, I maintain that there was a LOT of truth in what DJ said. Many fans were saying the same thing, like:
- "we never take deep shots to loosen up the defense"
- "we only throw to the side lines"
- "we hardly ever throw over the middle"
- "we don't throw to the TE's enough"
There is nothing he said that could be disputed. He just conveniently left out his own short comings.
The delivery of DJ's message, you could question, b/c he didn't include he include his own struggles issues. However, the message in and of itself was largely true.

If we did what you wanted, DJ would have shortened drives, caused more turnovers, and ultimately caused us to lose more games. There is two seasons worth of data. This doesn’t need to be a subjective argument. Look at his passing charts. They’re dreadful. And by the end he had the yips on 10 yard screens. He has all the tools but completely lost it mentally after the UGA game.

Was too inconsistent. Looked great at WF and ND as a freshman. Then every pass wobbled like crazy or was a laser 10 ft over someone’s head

I have nothing against DJ, and I actually hope he thrives at Oregon State. Having said that, sometimes it's just best to keep quiet; you don't have to publicly express every thought and emotion. Practice a little self-awareness. I hope he grows and learns from this.

DJ has not taken responsibility for his own shortcomings, both performance-wise and the fact that he showed up for his first season overweight @ 250 lbs. I had respect for him as a person, but he's lost it. He knows the coaches changed everything for him. It's very disappointing.
