I’ve been aboard 10 years. I think COLA’s should be semi-annual. I don’t have taxes withheld as the new standard deduction covers us.

After looking at the new bill in the senate, looks like they are going to get
all of us ss folks... the standard deduction may not help.

Congratulations! I just turned 64 the first part of June. Was planning on retiring but inflation and stock markets have me jittery. 401k has come back up in value some, so I may go ahead and do it within the next few months. Want to sell my house in GA and move back to G'ville (realistically, probably Upstate at this point) due to the housing market.

Congrats on your retirement.
SS is what it is. Many of us paid in to this every week for 50- 60 years. Problem is it now also goes to those who paid little to zero in.
One thing I found odd is now I can't imagine how I ever had time to work a job.

Someone recently asked me if I was going to find a part time job to stay busy. My reply was that "I don't have time for work with all the things on my honey do list, plus the things I want to do....

When they kicked me out for being too old to do the job, moved back to SC.
When here as kid in the 60's there was almost no work for a college kid.
Coming home the area here was booming, but my skills were not in demand.
