I went to bed and we were up by 20. I check the score this morning and it’s a 6 point game? I guess I’m not totally surprised but what happened

PJ had a tude last night. I actually thought he might get teed up for the way he slammed the basketball against the goal base. Not sure how close it came (tv angle) when he was pumped after he made a basket and pumped his fist - he almost clocked a Louisville player in the jaw.

Good thing though. Without his offense, we could have lost the game. We are extremely lucky that Louisville is a horrible team. The rebounding disparity had a lot to do with the terrible Louisville misses. They were so bad, the rebound angles were way off.

Agree with all. They showed the fist pump after the dunk from a different angle and it wasn’t as close as it looked live but it still could have been an issue with the wrong official. And yes, throwing up absolute bricks like Louisville was will lead to more offensive rebounds.

Louisville was the perfect team for us to draw for a “rebound” game (pun intended) after Saturday.

1 - It seems like every time Clemson plays, someone on the opposing team has a career game. Last night was no exception. Louisville's Tre White scored 29 in the game, 21 of which came in the second half.

2- Louisville out-rebounded Clemson on the offensive boards 21-4, and a 19 rebound advantage overall.

3 - Another lengthy second half scoring drought by Clemson. At one point, Louisville outscored Clemson 30 - 9 even though Louisville went the last four minutes without scoring a FG. Starting at the midway point through the second half, Louisville outscored Clemson 35-15.

4 - This team still makes A LOT of unforced errors (i.e., boneheaded plays and unbelievably stupid decisions with the ball).

At the end of the day, an ugly win is better than playing well and losing.

Yep. The game was ugly from the tip off. Halfway through the first half both teams were on pace to finish with 40-something points and at 4:12 to go in the first half the score was 19-18. We almost doubled our point total in the last 4:12 of the first half.

I agree. An ugly win beats a close loss any day.

very true about the "Career Game" point you make.. like what is that??

is that just bad luck or is that a failure of our defense to adjust? Sometimes guys just get in a zone and its impossible to stop them short of putting them out of the game. But its happened like 5 times already in ACC play.

Hadn’t really dug into it, but when you play man to man defense, you normally put your best defenders on the high scorers for the other team. This leaves a guy that normally doesn’t score a lot matched up with a player who would not be our best defender. I’m not into placing blame enough to do the research to see if these guys having career nights have been guarded by the same Clemson player but that could be one explanation.
Letting the best players on the other team beat you is not a good strategy. Making someone who normally doesn’t do much step up is usually a pretty good risk to take.

That didn't work too well for us against GT...

Kid for GT came off the bench and had a career game.

Well when something happens consistently then I would assume there maybe an issue.

I do not know the stats on this but do see this career type stuff come up from time to time on the board. Not believing people are just making something like this up.

About like football, we seem to always play against a punter that has a career day. Mind boggling really.

I completely agree about the punter issue, but in fairness...

I think it’s mostly been opposing guards or a forward that Wiggins is responsible to cover. Our defense in those areas has been suspect all season. Hopefully Clark can continue to increase his minutes. We could use his shooting along with better job not getting lost on defense.

Seems like coaching and defense should be able to prevent 1, but it happens over and over and over...

What happened is we won a conference game but based on the board this morning it appears we lost.

No what actually happened is we beat the worst team in the ACC 1-9 by 6 on our home court. Currently sitting with a 4-5 record in conference with what should be considered a good squad. A win is a win but not very encouraging when looking towards the rest of the season.

Just being a realist to those that do not understand the “lunatic fringe.”

I cut it off about the same time. Figured it would be a 20-30 point victory after us having cleared the bench. I actually felt sorry for Louisville, they were so bad. I had seen church teams shoot better than they did.

At one point in the second half L'Ville hit 6 or 8 shots in a row plus getting fouled multiple times and making free throws.
