Jack's Barbeque seams to be in my head for some reason. It was in the same building as the Esso Club to the right. Does anyone remember that?
I've had better barbecue, but it was convenient.

From Quattlebaum obituary:
Don was a dairy farmer for more than 38 years, during which he also served as the national chairman of the Young Farmer's Association. After selling their family farm, Don owned the Esso Club in Clemson, and founded Just Barbecue, then later Just More Barbecue, where most of the family worked along his side. He was active in the Republican Party in Anderson County for many years.

Now THEY had the best onion rings. I was still in school and wife was outa town for a week. So I ate Jacks bbq and rings for 6 consecutive days. My gut exploded on the 6th day. That was 45 years ago and, although I still love them, I cannot eat onion rings to this day.

It was Jack’s BBQ - I worked there when I was in 7th grade 1978. It was owned by Jack Harmon and operated by Jack and his dad Colonel Harmon. And I would say the BBQ was competitive with most but the very best around these days. The onion rings were homemade and the fries were fresh cut potatoes in the kitchen - I know I cut a ton of potatoes every day. It later became Quatlebaum’s after Don bought the Esso Club from Bob Higby.
