I would LOVE to have that kid next year at Clemson. I may get roasted but, honestly, I am underwhelmed with Cade so far

Every QB with a pulse lit us up this year. I think it's telling that Riley took the ball out of Cade's hands and ran it 50 times.

With Leggette and Harbor and all of that talent he looked like a freshman vs. a Clemson team with only 3 healthy wideouts to throw to.

No WRs limited the Tiger offense. The 2 that would have lit UofSC up Saturday were sitting in Clemson injured.

Or the fact that he only has 1 year left and Cade, with 2 years left, would hit the portal? With only 3 healthy wide outs Saturday and 1 experienced tight end, have we seen a representative sample of what Cade can do?
Including injured players at receiver and tight end, true freshmen who redshirted this year and the new players coming in, we will have 12 receiving options available next year that weren't legitimate options at the end of this year.
Cade was explosive in the run game Saturday. He will add 12-15 pounds of muscle in the offseason and be even more explosive. Plus, he and the rest of the offense will have the benefit of another season in Riley's system. We lose 1 olineman and 1 receiver most likely. We were young offensively this year, but next year will be an upperclassman dominated offense with more speed at wide out, tight end, receiver and running back. I would expect a similar growth to what we saw on defense this year.
The portal is not the panacea some make it out to be. Going after Leonard in the portal this year would be a huge mistake.

While I'm not opposed to using the portal, doing so at the QB position would not be the best use of the portal by Clemson IMO.

He's a great QB.... with the growing pains of getting a young guy some experience, seems like a pretty good plan to pick up a 5th year guy that has proven himself. Even though it didn't work out so well with Hartman.... who knows.
Cade will do just fine and I am confident he will leave here one of the better QBs we've had. This post is not a knock on Cade.
There's many paths to the top of the mountain and many many things have to line up. Thats what makes our two natty run so special. Hard to get there... even harder to stay up there.

Not sure if he has graduated yet, but if so, a degree from Duke (free ticket to Wall Street) and playing a year at Texas A&M might not be a bad combination.

Elko was part of Jimbo's mess at TAMU. Yes, defense was great, but recruiting and portal? Now, TAMU will have how much money committed to coaches? It's now the NFL with less rules! The fans and or collective picked Elko over Stoops too! This business model is flawed and will destroy some schools, many I guess. How is IRS treating bribes and payoffs these days?
