Until all this crap catches up with us in football. It’s already started but we aren’t there yet. Uga , Ohio St, and FSU can just seemingly take anyone they want out of the portal with no limits on scholarships and poach/tamper without any repercussions. They over recruit positions without any negative press, yet we get negative press for requiring our players to go to class.
Society is awarding the win and all costs and mocks those that try to have morals. It’s become disgusting.

I think the losses to Duke, NCst, and Miami may be an indicator that the crap has caught up.
The offense was once the envy of the land, now it looks like any average to bad team you could see anywhere in the nation.
I wonder if a truly embarrassing, losing season will change people’s minds on a coach having his cake and eating it too.

offense had simply been bad in 2021 or 2022, we'd have been in the playoff. The offense was less than bad.

seems to only affect one side of the ball here, our Offense, and not our championship level D. It's almost like our use of each is not as simple and black and white as many like to make it out to be.

play the big game, when it is legal, with the other big boys, is beyond me. There is already a difference between our program and Georgia, Ohio State, FSU. Why? Why are we content to just be relaxed about getting the players on campus that will get us to the playoff. And as the Power2 becomes more and more established in the grain of conversation, it will become even harder to get those types of recruits or transfers. I agree with your post 100%.

Did Michigan win because of the Portal and NIL or because they were just the best team. Buying players is just a fantasy that applies to a few players across the country not entire teams.

I disagree. Sure, they are getting transfers in, but also losing a lot of top players - a lot more than Clemson. Ohio State, as an example, lost many starters. In total, 19 players transferred out of Ohio State. Sure, Clemson lost a few, but up until this year, don't recall losing a true starter. Mukuba is the only one that I see that hurt since this whole transfer mess started, and was likely unavoidable with father/family at Texas.

I'm surprised we haven't seen a Fab 5 approach or class put together of one-and-dones bearing 'sponsorship' sacks. A lot easier to pull off a complete starter package in hoops than football allows.
