Think was funny, BUT, you seriously need to be supportive of our teams AND coaches. With their record and on the floor success this season, Clemson was a sure fire team to be in the tournament . Even fans of rival schools know that we were given the shaft by the committee. Rather than turn your ire to the coach why not address the real culprit. The committee.. They knew the Tigers record and the success we had all season. They knew of the convincing wins over NCSU. They knew we had beaten Duke and Penn State and Pitt. They knew of the good road wins. The committee and only the committee is the reason the Tigers are playing in the NIT rather that the championship series. If the Tigers didn’t need the exposure that the NIT will permit they could easily have told the ncaa leadership to “cram it”. Clemson was given a raw deal and it was no fault of Coach Brownell. Show your real support.

Is a loser mentality that will get you nowhere in life. Don’t leave it in the hands of the committee. And quit whining.

I agree with that statement but, hopefully it will be a learning experience for future games against weaker teams.

But hasn’t made that next step and I think it’s just a step. If he has it in him I don’t know why he hasn’t by now. That being said I will absolutely pull for the Clemson Tiger’s Basketball team, whoever and wherever they play.

I think it may have been the losses to Louisville, SC and Loyola. Not sure how NC State got in but I have never thought we were shafted. Most figured we needed 2 in the ACC tourney. We got one and got blown out once. Got to take care of the gimmies. Lot of competition for limited spots. Rather we took care of business and then there would not be any need to worry about being invited.

They also knew that we lost to Louisville (NET 315), Loyola-Chicago (NET 269), and SCAR (NET 234).
Complain all you want about the committee, but they were right. Clemson piled up wins against a VERY weak SOS but couldn't manage to beat some of the very worst teams on the schedule.

I don't think blame shifting is appropriate in this particular case. Like it or not, we shot ourselves in the foot losing to some really bad teams.

We have to do what we can to fix the SOS, especially the OOC games. We can't do much about the ACC but the conference being down so much this year made those good wins not nearly as impressive as they might have been in the past. I think that is why our conference ranking didn't help this year.

We literally only needed to win one more game than we did. we could have picked any of the quad 3/4 crapfest teams we lost too. Any other discussion is a red herring. This isn’t unique to this season. Brownell loses more games to sub200 rpi teams than his predecessors at Clemson or his peers in the ACC. That is a failure to lead that will never change no matter how much money we throw at it. We did not lose to Loyola-C because of our talent or budget. And we have 13 seasons of data that show that, while these games may appear as outliers, they are less so than for most other P5 coaches. All of that is reflected in the fact that he has the least tourney appearances of any head coach of his tenure in the Power 5. It’s not funny anymore and people need to quit explaining away the fact that he simply isn’t good.

You are right in one point. We should support our team. As for getting a wrong deal. Cannot disagree more. When you lose and underperform against teams you are better than, you schedule a cupcake OOC schedule - you put yourself on to the bubble. Simply taking care of our own business takes away any concerns a committee might have. WE put ourselves in harms way. He committee did not do that. We did.
