Once legislators got involved, was only a matter of time

Will be a part of that. Doesn't matter if they go to the Big Ten or SEC. They will be one in the same. Only a matter of time

out...Why would they care what the NCAA says? If anything, wouldn't the NCAA going after Tennessee ultimately push this move to a new league?

W-2 wage workers as part of a union. They'll get owned by the IRS...

I can't see how they can file a W-2 as a professional athlete and not pay taxes on their tuition, healthcare, clothing, etc. benefits.

IIRC, that's what stopped Northwestern's football team from unionizing years ago. Their taxes were more than the pay they wanted.

If the feds are getting their tax dollars, then of course the states will want

theirs too...except in Alaska, Florida, Nevada, New Hampshire, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Washington, and Wyoming, where there is no state income tax. Distinct recruiting advantage to the schools in those states for the business-savvy players looking to maximize their earnings.
