Robert Jolly (2014, Carolina Forest) commits to Clemson.

One of the best catchers in next year's class (Former #1 and I think he's in the top 5) and a former commit to Liberty. Another good pickup for Jack and the crew and its good to see we're starting to recruit well again in-state. He announced this 50 minutes ago on his twitter account.

SC has some of the best baseball players in the nation and I've played with a whole lot of them. SC's football as a state is FAR inferior than baseball, so Dabo has to recruit out of state to remain successful. Learn something before you comment, please.

If SC had some of the best baseball players in the country, there would be more than 3 All Stars produced since 1990. We have some good baseball talent, but don't act like it is bigger and better than football.

last year and made it to semi-finals in football and district for baseball so its safe to say I played against some of the best of the best. Trust me, baseball has FAR superior talent than football. Football gets like a B, baseball gets a A. Georgia still is a little better but the talent is so much better across the board. I do also agree that USuC over-commits as two really good friends of mine committed as sophomores and both are at D2 schools.

Absolutely no comparison between the two...Pick a team of 15 SC-4A allstars and put them in a tournament in Georgia against AA high school teams and they go .500 at best.

Clemson's roster are from South Carolina. Ellington, Hopkins, and Brown off of last year's team are getting considerable playing time in the NFL, all from SC. I believe it is important to recruit SC and go elsewhere as needed as well.

One thing I've disliked about Jack is his lack of recruiting in state guys. South Carolina has amazing baseball. I played with Scott Wingo, shame Leggett didn't think he was good enough. Yhe coots have been getting most of the top guys in state and that's why they have 2 titles.

state. That Batson kid will be a good one. It is hard to imagine, how we kept him, Gossett, Duggar and Bouleware from the Coots.

The travel ball and high school coaching connections in state, that's where it starts, and the coots or coot logic has infected throughout. They still over-recruit and burn out young arms at an alarming rate.
How many sc players started on the championship teams? Also, they go hard after Juco players.

They just fill in weaknesses better with Juco players. I have heard that travel and hs coaches have reached out to cu and scar and scar seems to be more receptive.
As long as scar is letting anyone with a GED in they will have more fans and ties in sc. More, not necessarily brightest.

More depth of talent in ga, fl, tex, Cali, but per capita the state of sc holds it's own. The best 9 from sc would give the best from ga a game, saying it wouldn't be a blowout.
The 2nd 3rd 4th teams on down the line is where our depth gets overmatched.

Connecticut has 800,000 less people and only 1 less major leaguer than SC since 2002. But yes, Leggett is clearly looking in the wrong place there where a Big Time D-1 school can pick who they want.
