There’s a lot of talk about how Dabo is refusing to adapt when in reality it’s Clemson fans who are refusing to adapt. In this new free agency era of CFB, there are plenty of schools that are much larger than Clemson with larger alumni and funding bases than Clemson that want to win just as much. Even though it’s not quite working right now, Dabo’s ideal of Clemson being a HS talent developmental program just may be the most realistic way for Clemson to compete in the future as we’re not going to be able to outbid the larger schools for the top “free agent” players. Clemson is a smallish school with a smallish alumni base in a smallish state where half the state hates them. It’s highly unlikely Clemson can win another National Championship in this new era of CFB no matter who the HC is, but by far IMO our best shot at competing in the long run is WITH Dabo!
