Scholarship breakdown

Here’s what I think will happen…
Gone (10): Hunter Tyson, Brannon Spector, Will Putnam, Ruke Orhorhoro, Tyler Davis, Xavier Thomas, Justin Mascoll, Sheridan Jones, Jayln Phillips, RJ Mickens
Declaring early (4): Nate Wiggins, Andrew Mukuba, Jeremiah Trotter Jr, Barrett Carter
Returns (3): Tyler Venables, Walker Parks, Will Shipley
Assuming we lose those 4 juniors to the NFL, we would only have 14 spots open with 17 commits.
Some dudes are going to transfer out. The question is who? And how many?
Let’s just say 6 transfer out, which now gives us 3 spots to fill. Is Dabo dipping into the portal, offering developmental high school kids late, or putting more walk-ons on scholarship?

We’ve lost 11 players to the portal in back to back cycles. If we lost that many again, we would have to use the portal. Seems unlikely that we could close on that many recruits this late in the year.

Hasn’t received an offer. I think we’ll be just fine at filling last minute slots.

Nobody wants to address the elephant in the room. How many commits are going to bail for a program in better shape along with a nice NIL deal? Unlike previous years, with 10 or more wins, we had something to hang our hat on. This is full on dumpster fire. We don't keep all these commits and will be scrambling to fill slots with contingency players.

It depends, does Dabo have any nephews or neighbor's kids to put on scholarship?

There's 14 seniors on the roster.
2 are returning due to med redshirts, Venables and Parks.
There's an "open" scholarship from TJ Dudley.
I agree those 4 declare: Nate Wiggins, Andrew Mukuba, Jeremiah Trotter Jr, Barrett Carter
That's 17 open spots. The class is currently 17 and some late offers have gone out. Maybe 1 or 2 of those pan out. If the roster is sitting at the the currently available limit and other offers have gone out, that tells you the coaching staff is aware/expecting additional departures.
The biggest difference I see is the guys that are going to transfer out. I think there could be as many as 10, which would be on par with most years since the portal opened.
I think Helms, Shipley, Mafah, Mayes, Pennington, Denhoff, Patterson and Covil are candidates. I had Randall on this list until lately. He doesn't sound like it in the interviews I have heard but I wouldn't be surprised. The same with Beaux.
This offseason is really important to the direction of the Clemson program. It's either going to break it or give it a chance to rebound. I hope it rebounds. People on the staff and roster are going to have to do some things that are WAY out of their comfort zones to make it happen.

on track for rotation if not competing for starting position. He’s our 4th guy this year with 2 leaving. Yes we have some RS but those guys haven’t seen the field. Also think 1 of the RBs stays. Pennington maybe.

It’ll be interesting to see who transfers out. We haven’t had any starters leave. Will that change?
Watchlist: Phil Mafah, Beaux Collins, Sage Ennis, Mitchell Mayes, Bryn Tucker, John Williams, Trent Howard, Ryan Linthicum, Zaire Patterson, Cade Denhoff, Tre Williams, Caden Story, Myles Oliver.

as we need to get better at RB and that can’t happen with Dabos stubbornness to stick with players. He will stick with him as long as he’s there.

He needs to. Mahfa can at least manage clean handoffs from qb without fumbling the football and is harder to stop. He is being held back for this spoiled brat that has no respect for his coaches as evidenced by his temper tantrums. How many dropped ballls and fumbles has Shipley had? He is part of problem, not the solution Dabo wants him to be.

Kinda of agree w/ who you've listed as Seniors departing

(Tbf, wouldn't surprise me if Tyler V decided to either hang them up like his brother or maybe try to transfer & play his last year for dear old dad)
RB I could see a departure, & not necessarily 1 of the young guys. WR I think we see 1 due to Wesco coming in. Think we lose at least 1 OL & 1 DL.
Thinking the guys you say are leaving early would be spot on, although I hope we can keep either Trotter or Carter (given we've recruited heavy on DB, I could see the staff being ok not being 7-9 deep in scholly LBs & lean more into being 4-2-5 & less 4-3 should they leave). Mukuba staying would be huge for the DBs from a senior leader standpoint.
The big unknown is who will we lose in TP. Currently got 17 commits & if we hold firm w/ them (as many have publicly held to their verbals in recent weeks despite the struggles), then we're looking at numbers crunch again if we have guys we expect to leave staying or we don't take a portal hit.

Let the coach that evaluates portal transfers do his job..i can't remember his name but he has been there for years..he has the easiest job and one of the worse coaches ever.
