This is why streaming is the GOR leverage point for programs like Clemson who hopefully can retain existing and add new audience.

Why commit to a tired old ESPN/NBC/Other network deal when all you need is a streaming platform?

Imagine signing a $1B deal to livestream or on-demand all ACC games in all sports via Prime for 15 years?

What's the downside? (Other than maybe the ACC's declining draw.)

Maybe he was ahead of his time, but streaming for revenue was the plan of the PAC12 commissioner who lead them into oblivion.

Won't be long until private equity firms buy college football teams, pay the schools a licensing fee, rent for facilities, and run it like a business.

Or the athletic departments from the two or three realigned "power" conferences (which on a national scale is really just another way of identifying which are the best, most-competitive athletics programs in the land) adopt the Champions League model that has been seen great success in European soccer.

the rights to it. A lot will change between now and 2036 in terms of technology and how it's used to distribute content.

streaming has democratized it. We grew up with three channels, then 10, then 20 then 200 with the HBO box, now we're all paying $80/month to stream anything we want, anytime.

So the smaller programs are on the outside looking in while the marquis programs maybe get together, form leagues (independent of the NCAA and university boards) and build their own streaming deals/branding revenues.

Pro ball.
