but we have to expect to lose some guys at DT now. All of Page, Williams and Capehart are just to good to be second/third team as juniors. I surely hope I'm wrong, and having players like TD and Ruke for next year is outstanding, but long term we'll miss whoever does leave, 2023 and 2024

I think their announcement of their intent to return is partially the reason that Rueben entered the portal today. However, I am optimistic that the others you listed will stick around due to the defensive line rotation. Albeit, they might not get the amount of snaps this year that they were hoping for, there should still be plenty to be spread around the deep and talented d-line group, even with the incoming freshman.

I like the rotate 4 in and out deal. Makes you look like you have endless talent and keeps fresh legs in to get to the QB.

Guaranteed tampering going on with those guys right now. It will be interesting to see how it plays out. Gotta recruit these kids for 6,7,8 years now.

Keeping top guys rotating in and out of the game is the best recipe for wearing our opponent's offense down IMO!!!

it's keeping those top notch guys around. We have 3 rising junior DT's who can play almost anywhere, not to mention this freshman class

Same thoughts on guys leaving. Looks like 17 for 4 positions. Good problem to have but big guys that can move don’t grow on trees so you hate to lose Capehart and Pages.
DT- Davis, Ruke, Williams, Capehart, Page, Story, Woods, Green
DE - XT, Mascol (reps will diminish if production isn’t better), Willams, Denoff, Parker, Burley, Lawson, Patterson, Ojiegbe

Burley is most likely a DT. I could see Woods playing either.

Yeah. Woods seems to good to keep off the field based on his reviews at All Star games.

First off,I'd guess the staff already knows who may/will transfer in order to get us down to 85. I'd guess at least one of those will be a DT
