Silly Coots,it's not just the money-recruiting

I'll post this for those that have already had their shower today
There has been much discussion today on the air waves and message boards on the drop off of talent in the program. Money is clearly not the only answer to our problems. It does not help though that we are at the bottom. It is baffling with the financial resources we have today. We should be at least in top 6. Look at all the great improvements we have made in facilities.
What is more galling is the team in the upstate spent more on software (260k), a new plane additional staff with at least a aggressive strategy to recruit anywhere. Our strategy is to wait on the next cycle of instate Lattimores, Clowney etc and let the HBC delegate our approach.
Instead of asking the question can we compete with upper tier of SEC, we need to ask HOW can we compete?
SEC recruiting budget #s TN: $1.4M, AL: $980K, AUB: $950K, ARK: $666K; UGA: $623K, UF: $602K, MISS: $495K, MO: $363K, UK: $336K, LSU: $302K, MST: $306K, SC: $248K, A&M: $240K

They have a grossly over-inflated opinion of their program..

and because of that, they will never understand that the University of Second Choice is nothing special. They offer ABSOLUTELY NOTHING that can't also be obtained from several other better schools across the southeast.
Their academics are a joke, the city of Columbia is a complete cesspool, and their head coach is a drunken self-serving a$$hat.
Clueless09 and his band of mental midgets over on FGF would have you believe $CU is one of the top 10 jobs in the country. It's not. In fact, I'm not sure it ranks among the top 30.

I don't know about top 10 but definitely top 15 to 20

Clemson just doesn't produce the revenue that schools like Texas, Alabama, Ohio State, Southern Cal, Oklahoma, Michigan and Notre Dame do which is one factor that keeps them out of the top 10.

The schools that fall into the 11 to 20 range....

could be ranked in just about any order and it would be difficult to argue against it. Schools like Florida, Penn State, Georgia, UCLA, Tennessee, Wisconsin, LSU, Texas A&M, Oregon, Arkansas, Tennessee, Florida State, Auburn, Miami, Nebraska, Washington, North Carolina and Clemson

South Carolina and Clemson are more in the 20-25 window.
But you're splitting hairs trying to decide which one is better. Carolina has more resources but it's easier to win at Clemson.

The S****y academics and being located in a cesspool of a city keep $CU out of the top 25.

What resources? Our facilities our far better than the gamecocks...

Billy Brice is a poorly constructed stadium that has open air restrooms within 20 feet of the concession stands. Your supposedly state of the art baseball stadium needed a two million dollar repair 2 years after it was built. Colonial Dead Life Arena never gets routine maintenance done to it. The faucets in the restrooms are faulty. And Columbia Community College isn't even a top 75 job

but that's about it. However, neither is on campus which is a major shortcoming.
From a football standoint, Clemson is leaps and bounds better and it really isn't close. It's OK...most schools can't compare to Clemson in this regard. You just happen to be one more in a long list.

Also are stadium stands don't tremble from one person walking up the steps. Your stands are poorly constructed metal with a thin layer of concrete poured over it

environment next to a lake.
SCar's facilities are a mile from campus in the middle of an industrial zone with quarry dust blowing in.
The one and ONLY advantage that SCar has on us is the SEC affiliation, and as the ACC's top programs continue to strengthen that will advantage will subside.
If you want to truly objectively compare the two, pull up old recruiting news and look for comments from the recruits and their parents. Seldom if ever will a recruit talk about how great SCar's facilities are or the environment around them, including the statdium. With Clemson it's a common theme.
If I were you I'd be more concerned with how SCar is going to keep Vandy from passing you along with Kentucky. I mean really. Battling for last place in the East? So sad.

The faucets are faulty in the restrooms, the water fountains don't work properly and have stains on them. Your baseball stadium needed a 4 million dollar repair two years after it was built. And your chicken wire fences are an eye sore, which also show the most disgusting up skirt ##### of your over weight white trash female fans on games shown on TV.

and there is no comparison. Clemson's facilities are light years ahead and our facilities actually get built properly and have routine maintenance done on them for up keep.

Wait a minute...it's "easier to win at Clemson"? Since when have you won anything?
Zero championships, 8 bowl wins in 120 years. And you think that's a top 25 destination?

The only 2 reasons they can attract big names to coach in Cooterbille
1) they throw $$$
2) they are a member(doormat) of the SEC and have little to lose.
