22 to UNC 52 to Pitt 27 to Duke 48 to Virginia 23 so far today vs Va Tech
We scored 17 vs Pitt and they have given up 34 to Tennessee 44 to Western Michigan 21 so far to Ga Tech 31 so far today vs Miami
Syracuse we scored 17 and they have given up 21 to Liberty 33 to FSU 40 to Wake Forest 36 to Virginia Tech
Boston College, 19 to Clemson 28 to UMASS 34 to Missouri 28 to Louisville 33 to NC State
Something better change offensively today, or we will not be able to score enough points to beat FSU. If we score our average vs FBS, which in regulation, is 14 points, then is will definitely not be enough.
At first I had fears that this offense would be as bad as 2010. I no longer have that fear because now we know that it is worse. Something needs to change offensively today, or we will be in a very tough stretch of FSU, Wake Forest, Louisville and South Carolina. We are 4-3, as bad as our offense is, we could easily be 5-2, thanks to a great defense that was wasted this year. But just as easily as we could have been 5-2, we could be 1-6.
In the post game presser at Pitt, Coach Swinney, who is and will always be the greatest coach in Clemson history, said that we are just having a rough stretch and it is hard to explain. Well, its not hard to explain. We showed up for the season, with not only a bad offense, but one of the worst offenses in college football history. An offense so bad that it has only scored 84 points in regulation vs FBS opponents and has given up 14 points for a net of 70. An offense so bad that an elite defense could not make up for it and it even helped wear down that elite defense. After a spring practice, an offseason, a preseason camp, this is the offense we showed up with. You can't do any better than have the recruiting classes we have had. You can't do any better than five star qb and top 100 receivers. Are they all misses? After not having any misses for six years, now all the top 300 recruits at receiver and qb are misses? Maybe the coaches on that side of the ball are misses. I don't know but the offense needs to show at least a small amount of improvement. IF we could average 21 points per game the rest of the season instead of 14, it could make a big difference. We will see what happens today. I think we need 30 points to win. We will see.

You can’t make the changes needed to “fix” our offense today or during the season, it is what it is and it will not abs cannot change. We need to game plan around that and change our clock management approach, run the play clock down, shorten the game and play great defense, keep them as fresh as possible and keep trying to win 17-14 type games. We can and it’s our best option to win the rest of the season.
