So, I was at the game and haven't watched the replay yet

Nov 9, 2015, 9:32 AM

A few questions:
1) Was there any mention of what the 15 yard penalty was about after Cook's long TD run? The ref seemed to announce it as a dead ball foul (unnecessary roughness?). I can't imagine it was on the attempted tackle at the end as that was 100% legit. Did they say anything about it on TV?

2) The PI call on Clemson on a big 3rd down (3rd quarter?). I think it was on Alexander? Was that legit? The replay shown at the stadium didn't show anything, but it didn't show much prior to the ball getting there.

3) Any mention on TV about the clock running after the false start/delay of game penalties at the end of the first half? I've browsed through the rulebook, and can't find any mention directly, but I thought in the last 2 minutes the "offended" team had the choice to allow the clock to keep running or stop. I can't imagine we would've opted for the clock to start on the refs signal rather than on the snap. Any mention of that on TV?

#1 was a horse collar tackle as he scored***

Really? Then it was announced wrong

And the replay in stadium sure didn't look like a horse collar tackle.

But OK.

The ref called it a dead ball, personal foul . . . if you

watch the replay - no way it was a horse collar. Both our guy's hands are visible on the front of the semihole jersey - not down in his collar.

And it wouldn't be called a dead ball personal foul.

BUT - on the replay - you can clearly see the flag coming in while the play is still very much in progress - like it was being called a horse collar.

Really weird - didn't make any sense - still doesn't.

Brad Brownell: Only Larry freaking Shyatt has a WORSE overall winning percentage among Clemson basketball coaches since 1975. Let that sink in. It's Larry Shyatt & then Brad Brownell.

1. No mention at all, was wondering the same thing myself. Perhaps Tank had something to say to cook at the end of the play.

2. Very much debatable- Herbie and Fowler seemed to think it was, but there was nothing but fantastic coverage at the end of the play. However, while the receiver was running his route before he had turned, there was contact, but more like a hold.

3. My memory could be slipping me but I have no clue and have no idea what you're talking about.

HTH :)

Thanks

I was guessing there may have been contact early in the route by Alexander. But it was such a short throw that I was guessing that that should've been Defensive holding rather than PI.

thanks for the info

#2. He was all over him. He made a quick move across the middle and I guess Alexander wasn't ready and held on.

#3 I noticed that too and no they didn't say anything. I was wondering why the clock didn't stop.

1.Close 2. Was a PI. 3. Don't remember.***

#3...wondered about it also when I watched the replay...it occurred in the 3rd quarter again. I don't know but wonder if it has to be under 2:00 in the half for it to stop the clock...the delay occurred at 2:02...

Bad call - NOT a horse collar & initial contact made at 3.

It did look like a horse collar in real time.
