So there is a "list" of places that women consider "no go" zones for 1st dates

circulating on Twitter (X) and here it is:
1) Cheesecake Factory 2) Applebee's 3) Chili's 4) Chipotle 5) Olive Garden 6) The Movies 7) Your House 8) Any Fast Food Chain 9) Wingstop 10)Buffalo Wild Wings 11) Red Lobster 12) A Buffet 13) IHOP 14) Denny's 15) The Gym 16) Church 17) Starbucks 18) Coffee Dates 19) Ice Cream Dates 20) Family Functions 21) A Bar for Just Drinks
I guess loitering in the Waffle House parking lot with a hip flask full of Hennessy isn't considered cool anymore. Sorry FastChad looks like this list definitively puts you out of the dating bizness.
Curious to hear what other TNetters might consider "acceptable" places to go for first dates. Son of RB suggested Hooters, since it wasn't on the list. Smart kid.

Spit-ballin' of course, but many might consider a one night stand also a first date.

Women like to "talk" so anyplace where it's so loud you can't even hear your own thoughts is a NO GO like Buffalo Wild Wings.

Loudest restaurant I have ever been in. Plus, if you want personal space, that place is out.

My wife and I first met and "went out" to a bar under the assumption of being part of a large group in what turned into a double date. We were hoodwinked, but that could be considered our first date.
Our second date (or maybe first if you don't count the first one) we went to the movies to see Lion King in 3D.
Our 3rd date she met me at my parents house and we attended a family function with her being introduced to my parents as "my brother's girlfriend's friend".
That's how my wife and I started off and we are going strong, so this list is effectively trash.
There is still hope for Fast Chad!

The story on DiSanctimonious is that, while he was at Harvard, when he asked girls on dates, he suggested that they go eat at a "Thigh" restaurant. If the girl corrected him by saying "Tie" restaurant, he cancelled the date as he could not (and still can't) stand to be corrected. He's more of a juvenile than TheRump, and that puts DiSanct at a 12-year old, at the most.

I did my talking in the back seat...cooler of beer in the floorboard...and parked in the woods behind the cemetery.
Very quiet there, except for a little Frampton, Seger, or Clapton on the radio.

You date high maintenance you marry high maintenance. I didn't date high maintenance because I did not want to live my life giving high maintenance.

What if you meet her at the Waffle House? Is that considered a date? I do my best work with single mothers in need of emergency transportation.

When I used to date, I had a formula to weed out the succubus :
Date 1: Take them to a wine bar and order apps, ask her about wine.
Date 2: sushi/tapas and live music or dancing
Date 3: dive bar and finger food
After date 3, you will know what you are dealing with. After making the mistake of marrying a high maintenance woman, it won’t happen again.

Nowadays….if she attends an Ivy League school, take her to Palestine. In my day, to the drive-in. If it’s first date she rides up front, wouldn’t make her get in the trunk with everyone else.

We use to go to Fant's Grove/Pendleton Beach on first dates and it worked out quite well back in the day. Especially in the summer when submarine races were in full swing. In the winter, a drive-in movie would suffice.

1. Ask her where she would like to go. The standard answer will be, "I don't know. Where would you like to go?"
2. Suggest a nice restaurant (or mid-level restaurant).
3. Watch the nose crinkle with the response, "I don't think I want (that type of food). Let's try (restaurant name) that my friend recommended."
4. Problem solved.
