The money maker football is but let’s appreciate how good our teams are! Ladies made it to the final four and our men are in the natty! They haven’t even allowed a goal in the tournament! I love some Clemson Tiger football but I love some Tiger soccer! I’m a high school soccer coach and had my players watch some clemson matches. Go Tigers!

However, I pull for the Tigers. Been to numerous high school games over the years but still do not understand the game. Lots of running and kicking the ball. Here is hoping the Tigers pull off a win in their next game.

I didn't either until my boys started playing. Still learning some nuances here and there, but it's fun to watch when my kids are playing for sure. That said I'm not quite ready to start watching Premier League or anything yet 😆

I can help you out a little bit. I played competitively for 14 years, and have coached. Soccer is most similar to basketball as far as an all American sport. Obviously with more difficulty in scoring. The objective of each offense is to create opportunities for a shot on goal. That can come on the form of a fast break, a corner kick, a crowded box, or a penalty kick opportunity. Because the action is nonstop, it’s similar to basketball in that you are constantly poking at the defense and trying to find a weakness or mismatch. Defense is a little different in that, rather than just trying to create a turnover, most often you’re trying to funnel the offense to the sidelines. The downside to soccer is I feel like you can’t really appreciate what you’re seeing unless you understand the difficulty of the game. It’s similar to screaming at and criticizing a quarterback when you’ve never taken a snap yourself.

Thanks from someone who knows very little about the sport but will watch if Clemson is playing. I do know something about this board and expect thumbs down on the journey for all of us. It is a part of TNET community that at best adds spice but not always with everything nice. Life is a journey and our Tigers battle today against TCU .... Go Tigers

I can’t imagine not having a men’s soccer team like all SEC teams (except SC and Kentucky l) and many Big 12, FSU, Miami. They are all missing out

I hope they win it all, but unlike most other sports, the college rosters are dominated by international students.
I think they said there is only 1 American players on the men's roster.
It does lessen my interest.

in the latter 60's, when Coach Ibrahim visited our offices to drum up support for our new Soccer program.
So, the Sports Editor and I visited the team, were acquainted with rules, watched some practices, then made sure we hyped the sport. Already knowing several of our team members, they never failed to keep me informed about teammates and activities. Thus, began a long acquaintance with Coach I, who credited the paper's support with increasing student support.
Though not a particularly avid fan, I have been proud of our program and proud that the paper played an important part of helping to get our program up and running.
We should be proud and celebrate both our Men's and Women's programs!
GO TIGERRRRRS! BRING HOME...ONCE AGAIN.,.THE TROPHY! BEAT THE IRISH!

My daughter is 8 and her dream is to play soccer at Clemson one day. So proud of these two teams. Last night was an exciting game to watch.
