Only one thing makes me hesistant on Pearman (something Antonio said)

In Antonio's post spring game interview, he said Pearman "really surprised him" by his performance (as if it also caught him off guard by how well he played). His comments lead me to believe that he hadn't consistently seen that level of play by him during the Spring. IF this was always the way Pearman played, wouldn't he have said that he wasn't surprised and that he had seen this all the time in practice?

Maybe this now becomes Pearman's new normal (which would be great for us), but it appears that his high level of play during the Spring game may not have been what he's always been.

I'd think it might be because Peqarman hasn't been getting many reps with the main guys

Some people are practice players and some are GAMEDAY players

… when I was playing soccer, my practices were pretty good, but a switch flipped in me when it was an official game.

The focus was more intense and I elevated my play. It just meant more.

Not everyone is wired the same way, and I know they say you play like you practice, but it’s not the same for everyone.

Guys with moxie like Pearman are tailor made to be just "a gamer". All those intangibles tend to show up more on game day than in practice.

I hope that's not the only thing that makes you hesitate about Pearman.

Captures My Thoughts

Pearman may have just had the best day as a Tiger ever vs what has been seen in practice.

He reminds me of a more athletic Hunter Helms at this point. Idk if we should expect what we saw as the norm but I'd feel good seeing him as second man up based on the spring game if Cade went down.

Hope we do enough early in the year to get him in more to see how he manages the offense. I'd love to see if he can do more of what he did on Saturday vs just handing the ball off to end the game

You absolutely show not expect his performance as the norm.

The difference between the QB's yesterday was play section.

Two QB's seemed to want the plays to develop downfield...forgetting that they were involved in a touch=tackle game.

Pearman started throwing "3rd and Renfrow" type passes and getting the ball into play and letting the receivers actually touch the ball.

Which is a good point. One the one hand, that's a good thing. On the other hand, the success of the program over the last decade has been predicated on big plays downfield.
