Sports greatest achievements are meant to be won on the field, not in the minds of others

Dec 10, 2016, 10:12 PM

The Heisman is a popularity contest, dictated by highlights, narratives, what and who is interesting, incomparable stats, and hype. The only part of college football in 2016 that can be decided on the field is the upcoming playoff. The opinion part of the season is completely over. Lamar is a worthy choice, but I wouldn't take him over DW4 on any day. He's dynamic and fun to watch, a great player without a doubt. However, winners and leaders and what you want when championships are at stake. DW4 is the epitome of that, and I'm glad he's a Tiger. Go Tigers!

So true. The Heisman is like the academy awards. Just media and marketing weasels patting themselves on the back to sell more product. 100% politics and Clemson and DisnESPNy sit on opposite sides of the political spectrum. I am seriously starting to think they pick the guy that will have the most horrific acceptance speech just for the memes.
