Of course he did. He knew there was a high probability the Committee would screw FSU and wanted.to be prepared. And in fact, it did it twice by moving both Bama and UT past it.

Coming in HOT! They basically called the committee and it's members a collective scam. Don't completely disagree with this, but they weren't "dominant" after Travis went down. Sadly, FSU probably just press-released themselves into an ever HIGHER hurdle in the future with the CFP committee.

And they have been poor prognosticators at that. Going by the seedings, the committee is 14-13 over 9 years. There is not a single year that a mere 3 games went chalk. Since there has not been a single year that they have gotten 1-4 correct, they might need to change how they do things.

generally. Based on the criteria of the CFP committee, they got it right. Very disappointing for FSU, but the committee made the right call. There is no criterion that states that whatever the committee did in the past influences what happens today. Just because something never happened before doesn't mean it can't happen. We're talking about 25 years, and really less than that, not thousands of years.
Probably the two biggest things influencing this were the fourth criteria on injuries and present status of team; also, SOS (FSU SOS was 55 - that's terrible). Alabama's SOS is 5, I believe.
They did not get it wrong to have these four teams in - going to be a heckuva playoff!
