Still the same old offense, just no superman QB

Sep 5, 2021, 8:25 AM

This Elliot offense has been inconsistent and downright inept at times for as long as I can remember. It's just that we have had literal Superman playing QB here and there and they've been able to overcome the terrible offensive scheme. When you have a Watson or a Lawrence who can make a spectacular play on 3rd and 18 then it doesn't really matter if you make two boneheaded playcalls per 3 downs. Last night, DJU was not superman. I don't blame him, I blame the offensive coaching staff.

Superman would have had problems with Georgia last night. Their jersey's were covered in krytonite.

Do we really need all time great qbs to have a decent offense?

Can't disagree. We have had some guys who could sacrifice their body and get it done. DW carried the team at times. Amazing run.

We saw his potential during the Notre Dame game.

He needs to get his confidence back now that he is the starter.

While we have been running the exact same scheme for many years now Bama decided to go nuclear on offense and no longer rely on a dominant D, LSU went nuclear for a brief season on offense and abandoned their archaic I formation slog, Ohio State abandoned their Tebow-like QB run based offense and went mostly nuclear mimicking LSUs crossing underneath routes and deep strikes and now even UGA has abandoned their I formation tailback centered conservative offense. The only thing we have really changed is we no longer believe in running the HUNH to wear down the opposing D.
