Strange flashback

I know it's just an early poll but I was 8 years old when we won it all. Jumping up and down with that old TV image still imprinted in my mind. Watched my father cry for the first time and couldn't believe my eyes. Feels good regardless of any future outcomes.

I was 11 and my best friend was 12. His mom bought us a case of those Clemson orange drinks from Bi-Lo. When the game was over we went outside and tied several of the large fire cracker packs together and set them off. I'm getting old.

Funny how mention images. The image which was the SI cover was immediately scorched into my brain. Do you remember Perry dunking the football over the goalpost and the way the network acted as if Dave Remington was a beast second only to King Kong?

I hope this season produces for other kids what that season did for me.
