The article says Trevor will not surprise anyone this year. What nonsense! He didn't surprise anyone last year. He was simply one of the most heralded players ever to come out of high school, as he was breaking school records and winning state championships. Folks knew what they were up against and still could not stop him. It's like being ready for a hurricane. You may hunker down, but the storm is still going to do its damage. 'Cuse is ready? Good. Go ahead and stop Trevor. Oh, by the way, I forgot to mention Travis, Tee, Justyn, XT, Isaiah, and about 20 other great players. Lots of luck, Orange.

I mean if there is one team that can say that and it not be nonsensical, as crazy as this sounds it’s Syracuse. They have played us as well as any team in the nation last few years. I have a lot of respect for what Dino is/has done up north and we better be ready for a fight.

They better not try that. XT will take off Danny Devito's head.

knock him out of the game.
It would be funny to start Chase Brice and watch how conflicted they are on whether to try and knock him out because he’s good enough to beat them anyway.

It’s Humorous the spin he puts on starting a new QB with Zero experience. It’s an advantage because there won’t be much tape on him after only playing two games prior to the Clemson game. It’s a disadvantage that Trevor now has a full season on tape because DC’s will now know how to defend him. If you had to pick your poison, I think the choice is obvious.

Really absurd logic. To this guy, Trevor's experience counts for little, if anything, while Danny Devito's inexperience is really going to cause Clemson's defense all sorts of problems. Amazing!

the thing about TL is you can’t defend some of his throws.

He can get the ball into tight windows.
When he throws the deep out to the opposite side of the field It’s almost impossible to defend. Even for pro defenses

True!
As much as I hate. Hate w/a passion to admit it; this is true. I am a defensive minded football fan. I love defense. But, those deep timing routes are basically unguardable. The offense knows where it's going; the defense has to react to it(which cost them enough time no matter how twitchy an athlete is) for the WR to get open. Unless they have something special on both DE spots that we can't block or can generate a ton of pressure "up the middle" Cuse is in trouble. And, like I already said, "if we come into that game healthy" they won't beat us!
Their new QB will have to "know where XT is at all times"! I don't care if you have film or not on the QB; if he is in the pocket XT's job is to go get him. Nothing is going to change that; nothing is going to stop that! Plus if Foster, Henry, Mascol are looking as good as what I am hearing coming out of camp; it won't matter how fast they go. We will have quality depth to keep the pressure up!
CB will have to be able to defend the 50/50 ball. Syracuse speed makes you line up basic; they recruit long lanky WR's b/c defenses won't have safety help b/c of their speed. Bam - their WR who is use to winning 50/50 balls has the advantage and is already 6'3 and up. They get 1st downs and march down the field. Then when you just tell the safety to stay back; they start hurting you with inside runs. All b/c of the speed in which they fire off plays. And, body types they like at certain positions.
We have some tall CB's is going to be their problem who are superior athletes! If those guys jam them enough at the line to give the DE group time to get home; they will.

Cuse fans don't understand our last two games against them were exceptionally unusual. Two years ago, we started a transitional QB (between DW4 and TL) who got hurt. Then we played a QB against them for much of the game who later couldn't even win the starting job at Jacksonville State. Then last year against them most of the game our QB was a previously 3rd stringer who, while very good, probably got very little work with the 1's up until that week. Cuse has not even come close to playing a fully-loaded Clemson team for almost 3 years. This year is not going to be close by any means.

Some people seem to forget the main reason we won that game vs 'Cuse last year was our running game. Brice made the key play, but the game was won on the ground.
Mark my words. We are going to dumptruck them this year. It won't be close.

Yes, and the more amazing part of that running game was yards after contact. I think ETN had 2 yards after contact to 1 before contact. We were running though them and did not give up.
Brice still has the clutch play

I am looking forward to the game with Syracuse.

I was up there two years ago when Syracuse beat us. I enjoyed the trip, found the fans to be nice and hospitable before, during and after the game. I enjoyed the change of pace of a game in NY state, indoors, in a nice town to visit. Everything was peachy, except we got beat.
I was in Death Valley last year and I also enjoyed that game. Syracuse came out hot, confident and they had us on the ropes. Everyone of us who was at the 'Cuse game last year knows we were a dropped pass, a fumble or a great stand by Syracuse from getting handed our second straight loss by the Orangemen.
Both times I've seen Syracuse under Baber they came into the game with us unafraid, not the least be intimidated by the paw on our helmets, our reputation nor the fact we had talent most had evaluated as better than the 'Cuse before the game. If I were a Syracuse fan, I'd be looking forward to yet another good showing by the guys they have coming back. Syracuse won ten games last year and they should be confident and a bit cocky about playing us at their place.
Could Syracuse beat us this year? Darn right they could. Syracuse had a nice lead last year and I am sure they believe they gave the game away in Death Valley. Babers looks like a serious, no nonsense coach and his team believes and they play hard. So yes they can beat Clemson.
Of course the game will not have anything to do with having scouted 16 and knowing about his tendencies and weaknesses. They also will not beat us because their secondary is experienced and coming back intact. Can our defense defend the Orangemen better than they did last year? Can our offense be productive on the ground and through the air this year? If so, we'll win. If not.......??
It shapes up as a great ACC match up between two teams who won 25 games between them last year and plan to win most of the games they play this year. I expect Clemson will play well.
Go Tigers!!

This idiot says Syracuse "will be ready" for Trevor. Trevor wasn't the qb that beat them last year. Maybe they need to "be ready" for Brice before they think about "being ready" for Trevor.

...it doesn't matter.
Their fans need to be ready to lose and lose badly.
Clemson has better players (much better) and better coaches and that's why we win, even when we play 85 players and don't play well.
If we play well it won't be close....no matter how ready their fans or players are.

A lot of good having film of Lawrence did Saban and all of his analysts. I hope that all of our opponents give us locker room material like this. I hope that Dabo shows no mercy and keeps his foot on the gas . Syracuse needs a good dose of reality.

So F$U and USuC gave up 60 points to Clemson because they didn't know TL's tendencies???? Also TL barely played against TAMU, and was injured in the first quarter against Syracuse. Syracuse got beat by our 3rd string QB. If they would stop injuring our starting QB every game they would be buried.

I think that Dabo should start me at QB. There is no film on me, and that should even things up! And I have never played QB so I don't have any tendencies to exploit.
