The issue isn't so much Bama as Texas!

How the heck did a 1 loss Texas team come out of the Big 12 and jump an undefeated FSU??
THAT is the move that should never have happened.
The 4 should have been...Mich, Wash, Bama and FSU! Texas and GA should have been left out as #5 and 6.

Texas beat Bama at Bama by double digits

The minute I saw Texas at #3, I knew Bama was in. For Bama to be in, Texas had to be in ahead of them. If they were going to let FSU in, they would have been #3 and Texas, with one loss, would have been 4. Again, when Texas was 3, the mystery was over.

While this is true, I'm not sure this version of Texas, at this point in the season, could beat the current version of Bama. Or Georgia for that matter. They've looked lackluster and undisciplined since beating Bama, and barely hung on against the powerhouses of KSU, ISU, TCU, and Houston. Boat racing OSU was the least impressive thing I saw on Saturday based on how bad their defense is (120th in the nation).

You don't have to be sure. They actually played the game and Texas won.***

They played the game in week 2. If you don’t think there’s a difference in a team from week 2 to championship week, then you’ve got your head in the sand. Texas would get boat raced by that same Bama team.

Can't help but wonder if Texas didn't play Bama and win in Tuscaloosa, would FSU be in and Texas out?

No need to wonder. The fix was in to have at least one SEC team. It had to be Bama as they beat UGA. Could not add Bama without adding Texas. FSU had to be sacrificed.

Texas is the best team in college football. That pick was right.

That may be a stretch. We will get to find out. What we will not get to find out is if FSU is. Whipping a joke of a OSU team that literally does not have a defense does not have me buying Texas stock.

Based on what? Barely surviving that gauntlet of a schedule that is ISU, KSU, Houston and TCU. Yep, they look like world beaters.

They had to do that to get an SEC team in. I predicted it bc I knew there was no way they could leave out the SEC.

I thought Bama was in after beating Dawgs but no surprise either that FSU out. I honestly thought UGa would be #4 though just for the outrageous factor. I wonder if we’ll ever get the story of what went on in those POC deliberations. FSU & Texas in - no problem no controversy, makes perfect sense. Bama jumps 4 spots and displaces an undefeated P5 conference champion - high drama.
I think I just answered my own question

The Committee HAD to put Texas in, as justification for putting BAMA in.

Pawl Finnedbomb already used it in his company logic. He said:
"You had to put Alabama in. They beat the season long #1. Their ONLY loss was to #3. They had to be put in."
So, I submit that had Bama not gotten in, Texas may not have gotten in, either. It could just as easily have been Michigan, Washington, FSU, and Georgia.
