Alone on the deck with good beer.
Young folks today have a rough road to travel. They want to do well, maybe have a family and a house, all that American dream stuff. Maybe they don't think like that, I don't know where their mind is.

After 3 years in the Army came back and found little chance of a job.
Soldiers were not popular. Folks were marching in the street calling us murderers.
Went to Charlotte as anything there would not be Mill work.

My roommates were both ex VN Green Beret.
We were in a low rent/high crime area, but were not attacked by the locals.

Over time, we all did OK as we were willing to work at "any" and all jobs.

Once In had a job showing up after midnight at the Charlotte bus station to take on wierdos who were there to prey on passengers.
That was a tuff job to survive in as some of the assh#les are dangerous and more capable than me.

I apologize for those too ignorant to realize our troops were only doing their job while giving up their innocence and youth. Most of you had little or no choice due to the draft.
