A friend of mine had gotten us 50 yd line seats. We left the game at halftime and went back to the motel to watch it on tv. My feet have never been that cold. It was the dammpness as much as the temperature.

I agree that was the day I got in med school, I went to the game, and wore no socks. It was about 15 degrees and WINDY. Mike Singletary was the middle linebacker for Baylor and kicked our butts. Got behind the Baylor bear in Atlanta traffic and almost missed the game.

I honestly don't remember. I've heard everyone talk about how cold it was. I remember it being foggy, a little rainy and just plain dreary but I can't remember how cold it was. I'm not saying it wasn't cold, I just don't remember. I guess being only 16 at the time had something to do with it.

The wind was whipping around that bowl at hurricane strength and the bathrooms were like ice rinks.

the weather. I was in Boise also, but because we had weeks before the bowl game and fully expected snow and freezing temps, everyone was prepared. I was very impressed with the Boise natives who attended that game and their methadology for dealing with the cold......they knew what they were doing.
That darned Baylor bowl game was miserably cold and windy PLUS we got our butts kicked.......but the one game everyone forgets whenever this topic comes up was the game in Blacksburg in 77 or 78 (I think--they all kinda run together)......when we left Greenville on Friday, it was sunny and near 80. At gametime in Blacksburg on Saturday, it was dark, windy, pouring rain and about 35 degrees......almost NO ONE was prepped for the weather. Miserable...but we won.... a huge fight almost erupted when the VaTech mascot jerked the tail out of the Tiger mascot and was playing keep away with some Hokie cadets who were filing off the field after a halftime drill......they wouldn't give the tail back until hundreds of Clemson fans began streaming down from the stands and jumping out onto the field ready to retrieve the Tiger's tail. Needless to say, once a couple of Hokies saw what was getting ready to happen, they IMMEDIATELY returned the missing piece of the Tigers' outfit. We won.
Also, a game in chapelhole in the early 90's (I'm pretty sure) was a night game for ESPN. It was freakin' freezing col and pouring rain in about a 30 mile an hour wind. Fortunately, it was blowing directly into the faces of the home crowd so that by halftime---and we were steamrolling them--- there was almost no one sitting in the home stands. The concession stands ran out of coffee and hot chocolate BEFORE the game started.......at the time, the Boss and I lived and worked in Raleigh, but we rented a huge farm far out in the country about 25 miles west of chapelhole for weekends and holidays. We stayed at the old farm this particular weekend and once we'd gotten to my old pick-up after the game (about 11PM) we took off all our soaking wet clothes and drove all the way back to the farm in our thermal underwear.....thank goodness no cop pulled us over!!. I drank a pot of coffee by myself after building a huge fire in the fireplace.......wet and cold---but lovin' having kicked the s**t out of the tarholes!!!!

sucked.....it was stupid cold....toes hurting cold. The worst weather i've sat in at a Clemson game in terms of wet cold was UVa game in either '94 or '95 in Charlottesville that we lost like 9-7 or some crap like that, had a bunch of turnovers, and it was in the 40's and drizzling. Long ride back to Arlington after that one madder than hell about our inept offense back then.

Yep, Boise was cold but fans were dressed for it - except the Bowden brother-in-law who came out for warmups in shorts. Boise citizens next to me wondered who "that nut was."

Coldest non-Clemson game - UF/Chickens beauty
Nov 13, 2013, 10:30 PM

in '96 at WB....got tickets from a buddy who is a UF grad, went, sat in upper deck and saw the Chicken slaughter to the tune of 56-7, i think, where Ike Hilliard and the crew had about a million yards receiving and it was about 18 degrees and windy.....ridiculously cold but a beautiful experience watching the Chicks get destroyed.....i was two rows from the top in the Farmers Market side and laughed my way through shivering the whole time....awesome.

Don't remember the year. Danny Ford and Maryland Coach were banned from sidelines. Danny for saying da@m on tv the previous weekends game. Bobby Ross (I think) for some reason. Ford went for the tie at the end to win ACC Championship instead of two for win. Cold windy day....windchill??????

the morning of the game drove to a nearby KMart to buy some thermals to wear to the game. We looked and looked and looked but couldn't find any thermals (actually ran into some Tiger Band kids doing the same thing we were doing). Finally, located and corralled a KMart employee (a near impossible task) and asked her which dept. contained thermal underwear. She had no clue what we were talking about and eventually admitted they didn't sell anything of that nature that she was aware of, and finally we just went to the dept. where they kept gym and workout-type clothing, bought a couple of sets and wore gym clothes underneath our Tiger duds to the game---bought some garden gloves too!!......much more comfortable than freezing.

Good question. Cold games all kind of run together for me. Being out in the cold a while they all begin to feel the same. I was on the top row of Death Valley for FSU in 03...I remember being cold but not even caring because of how awesome it was. Other cold ones in recent memory: 09 FSU, USC last year. Outside of that my memory pretty sucks

It was 32.2 degrees, windy, and raining. And the Clemson fans were sitting under the edge of the trees that would dump all the water when it rained. I MUCH PREFER snow over cold rain.
1996 at UVa -- it snowed during the game.
And the 1979 Peach Bowl against Baylor was frigid too.

2008 at Charlottesville. It was reported as the coldest game ever in Virginia history. The Coot game that year in DV was low 30's and drizzle, but didn't feel as cold as Charlottesville.

I was young way back then. Mom stayed in the RV while Dad and I went in to the game. It was miserable.

MN in Shreveport was cold too. 2000 coot game was chilly. Snowed a bit after the game. But we were warmed by da coot killah's heroics.

1972 Death Valley-Sleeted the whole game-I was ten. Hands so numb I could bareley unzip my fly in time.Jimmy Williamson batted down 2 pt conversion at end of 4th qtr to preserve 7-6 tiger victory. It was worth it.

Coldest I've ever been at a game. I was in the marching band and suffered through that whole miserable night (miserable except for the win). Below zero, rain/sleet/snow mixture, and a whipping wind. We were waterlogged and frozen. By the middle of our band's halftime show I could not feel my fingertips and was just guessing at the notes on my instrument. To make it worse, half the marching band got lost exiting the stadium and it took us almost an hour to find the busses. I hope never to be that cold every again.

My first game at Clemson was the 72 slush bowl win over the Capons. Stood in the frozen mud on the hill, where at least alcohol kept the blood flowing.
I still cast my vote for the 79 Peach Bowl game vs. Baylor. What Singletary did to our offense was only slightly more painful than the stinging sleet and howling wind in Fulton County Stadium.
One game that deserves mention (and I didn't see it elsewhere) was the 2005 game at Wake Forest. The game was in mid-October and the day started pretty pleasantly, but a cold front blew in about an hour before the game started. Temperatures dropped through the game, and we had spitting sleet by game's end. Wake won aswell, which didn't make things any more pleasant.

was that everyone who attende the pre-game parade got wet from the sleet and rain and then had ot sit through the game with wet clothes.

it was 33 degrees and raining. Everything was numb. SF lost 35 - 0. That didn't help.
Oh wait... that doesn't count... but it was still COLD !
