The Chad's replacement, if rumor is true...

Nov 27, 2014, 10:39 PM

Does Dabo play nice guy again and promote Jeff Scott, a la Billy Napier experiment disaster? Or will he go national search and hire proven replacement?

Lincoln Riley, OC from ECU.

What would you think about Riley from ECU?***

ECU plays tomorrow night so check them out...

Nov 27, 2014, 10:43 PM

A good friend of mine is ECU alum and likes him but says he hits play calling funks once in a while. I'm sure most OC's do occasionally.

That Napier disaster was hired by Saban. So not really a disaster now is it

I'd like Philip Montgomery from Baylor or Mike Norvelle from Arizona St.

I doubt that's true

Seeing how he's at Arizona, Norvelle has been under Malzahn and Morria at Tulsa before going to ASU

Jeff Scott will be your new OC. Dabo has said as much previously.

Re: The Chad's replacement, if rumor is true...

Nov 27, 2014, 11:20 PM

I can't and don't know if a link exists. But I do know he has already said it, about 2 years ago when it looked like Chad was gone at that time. I am sure many here will not want to believe that, that's fine. They will be disappointed if they are hoping for someone else.

I think Dabo should at least interview some others. Make JS co-offensive coordinator if someone else comes in. Title only but you get the idea.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Doubt a link exists.***

If jeff scott would be the new coordinator why did dabo hire Morris from the beginning? Scott been on the coaching staff for years. I think dabo need to hire a stud for the next coordinator job.

Big Deal,So what. We new this was coming.
Morris has consistently disappointed me with his uninspired play calling.
Get a OC who can recruit as well as call a good game.
Dabo can get anybody he wants for the
money he is paying CM in my
opinion.
I will not miss Chad at all if he leaves.
Good luck and good riddance.

Nov 27, 2014, 11:05 PM

I think he deserves a shot. One year that is it to show your stuff. He has earned it. How would you feel if you worked for a company and kept getting passed over? To be honest I know. I was an AGM for the leading lodging company in the world. I got passed up twice when posting for a GM position, but finally got my opportunity. 4 years in and my hotels consistently meet guest satisfaction and financial goals that are in the top 25% of the brand. Bottom line Scott could come in and put his own stamp on the O that may be a positive change. I have no issues with a promotion in this situation. But Dabo must man up if it fails.

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I doubt that they posted you at a flagship location.

Nov 27, 2014, 11:47 PM

IMHO, Scott will need to cut his OC teeth at a smaller location.

With the offensive talent we have on the roster and coming in you go get someone who has shown they know what they're doing. I get that JS is supposed to be next in line, but we have too much talent over the next 3 seasons to risk wasting it with a mystery at offensive coordinator.
