overblown. What is happening directly helps the rich stay rich and nothing else. It is an attempt to extract more money from your wallet. In case you haven't noticed, the money for college football has to come from somewhere and it is the one thing that isn't being used as a money laundering scheme by the gov't of the US to funnel tax money from you to the rich. In this case the money is being willingly forked over in order to make you think that if you do your team will have a chance to win a national championship. The fact is college football could be played with much less of an arms race to keep coaches, facilities, players, administrators rolling the dough. But we're made to think that throwing money at the system is the only way for your team to win. Same with colleges in general. Who needs to go to college now to get an education of any kind? It's an antiquated system that only lines the pockets of the administrators who attempt to increase enrollment every year even as more and more families go into debt in order to prop the whole system up. Here's the secret that they don't want you to know. College football is playing its fans against the NCAA, making them think that all this change is good. It's good that Southern Cal will be sending its teams (baseball, volleyball, football, softball) on trips across the country. If Clemson isn't careful it will be doing more of the same as it already is, playing Syracuse and Boston College and Miami for reasons that have nothing to do with common sense and everything to do with keeping fat cat administrators and coaches asking for more and more money all in the name of what? Like Pelosi, they say it's all for the kids when that's the last thing they really have in mind.
