...is that UM sent staff to scout sideline calls at Clemson and U Tenn - as both were considered "playoff contenders" early last season - and Michigan wanted to get the jump on signals from them as well.
South Carolina, who was 6-4 at the time and looked pretty bad, all of a sudden beats both top 10 teams, back-to-back.
The theory is that UMichigan gave USC the signals of both teams in hopes that they would knock both teams out of contention.
If it's true. It'd be freakin unbelievable.

This thing seems to be gaining ground. Frankly we played so poorly that I doubt they needed signals. And their punter was great. But that Tennessee beat down was completely unexpected and unprecedented. At the time I felt like it was thrown.

Same here!! (Felt like it was thrown!). I recall some TENN fans even bring up that and their defense issues. Something about a LB that was disciplined and how the player had infected other players on the team.with his bad attitude.......
BUT, this UM video scouting, along with USuC's coaches ties to the person.....AND the USuC's coach ties to the Wake Forest deal years ago....

If you can see the pics of our game with SC look at their defensive players. They were always where our offensive play was designed to go or to throw to. Every SC defensive player had the big armbands on showing plays. I had only seen a quarterback wear these before.

That would be an extremely risky move by UM to share that information with another staff. They could only entertain that thought unless they were sure the other staff was a bunch of outlaws too.

There is just no way USUCK could beat Clrmson AND Tennessee without a little help…..
Nah - in both instances Clemson screwed the pooch. No different than FSU and Miami this year. Yes, Clemson has become very good at beating itself.

That Clemson and Tennessee were scouted is not conspiracy theory. It’s known from the investigation that was done. An outside firm uncovered this while investigating the Matt Weiss incident from earlier - which has never been adequately explained. It’s conjecture that Beamer was given the information. But we know Beamer has done it before. He’s been fined by the NCAA for accepting the stolen Wake playbook while at Va Tech. And the Michigan sign stealer wasn’t being subtle. New reporting is that TCU knew about it and developed fairly elaborate counter measures. And the scheme was outed on a Tennessee message board in Dec of last year.

USC is in California. Why would Michigan give ANYTHING to the chickens? Believe half of what you see and none of what you hear. Unless you have definitive sources, it’s definitely a conspiracy theory. Here’s a novel idea: have a RB or wide receiver run the play call on field. It worked for 100 plus years. Knowing a play call and stopping it are two different things.
If a report comes out with evidence that Michigan gave Miami or SC signs, I’d be inclined to believe it.

I have heard from insiders that UofSC is all in the middle of the Michigan scandal with this whole stealing sign fallout. No conspiracy theory, there was information shared to some degree. Michigan's issues run really deep, a tangled web and will be interesting to see how this all pans out.
Guaranteed, every team is changing up all play calling at this point both defensively and offensively.
