the fridge, and all is set here on the sunny South Island of New Zealand. Winter was mild, but the mountains of the Southern Alps are still covered in snow. I can see them from where I sit and write this. It's full on lambing season now, and the wood fire haze that hangs over wintertime Christchurch has now given way to cut grass and pollen. The days are getting noticeably longer with each passing week. It's a good time of year. It's the best time of year. Not what I would normally call football weather, but, what the hell, it definitely ain't too bad either. I do miss a good near miss from a hurricane though and it always did seem to come around this time or near. But be thankful your ground doesn't shake and you don't wake in a cold sweat from earthquake nightmares like so many do here. But hurricane or earthquake none of that matters tonight. We're on for tomorrow. We've got a date with a satellite and a 1:00 pm Sunday kickoff on the plains of Auburn. It's a long season in front of us and last year was like no other. Win or lose, take the time to enjoy the journey, because before you know it, it's over and gone and winter is creeping back upon the mountains.

Good on ya. I remember my days in Hawaii, getting up at 6am to watch the noon games here on the east coast. Loved it, then had the rest of the day on the beach. Enjoy my tiger friend.

My wife and I are currently visiting family in Mindinao, Philippines....Cagayan De Oro. We will be tuning in tomorrow at 9:00 am - Sunday morning to watch the game (12 hours ahead of EST here). What's a good link? Seems the hotel here does not have ESPN.
