New scoreboard

I was in Clemson this past weekend and took advantage of the opportunity to drive by the stadium to see the progress on the new scoreboard.
Man...that thing is massive. Quite the contrast compared to what we're accustomed to seeing.

That would be a great idea, especially if it were on the West side. Heck, a big video screen outside Littlejohn would be cool, but traffic and parking would be even more ridiculous than they already are.

This is not the latest photo, but it puts the size of the video board in perspective--its width is the same as the hill.
https://clemsontigers.com/memorial-stadium-construction-updates/#slider_gallery-5Memorial Stadium Construction Updates Clemson Athletics Construction Update Clemson Athletics is underway on Phase I of renovations to Memorial Stadium. Demolition began in late November, and progress continues. The project was initially presented in October 2019, and received the approval to move forward in July 2021. The first phase is scheduled to be completed prior to the 2022 football season. Phase II of the project, scheduled to begin after the 2022 season, includes an update to Lot 5 (Rogers Family Lot) and updates to the team areas of the first level of the WestZone. Phase I Includes: WestZone Concourse Club: This premium space will be located on the concourse level and will create more than 600 new outdoor seats that will include an accompanying indoor space, comparable to the current Younts South Club. The accompanying indoor club space will include private restrooms, food and beverage options, and flatscreen televisions. Additional information is available at IPTAYcuad.com/wez-concourse-club/. Yep. More than twice as tall and almost exactly twice as wide as the old one. Can’t wait to see it with a packed house!

It’s a huge frame, no doubt.
A lot of construction has to advance in the next five weeks around the stadium. Anyone know what that work area is at the entrance to lot five?

Someone told us they thought it was going to be a pedestrian bridge.
First I've heard of that but it's certainly a good idea and should have been build years ago.

I have never really understood it - one pays for a ticket to watch a game in person. And, yet, they put up a huge screen so that the game can be viewed from it. Yes, maybe for replays, but does that justify such a large screen and millions of dollars??????????

We sit in section C on about the 12 yard line and when the play is near the west end I can see the play but with my old eyes I can’t tell if the play went for -1 yard or 3 yards. I watch the video board when it gets down there and this will be great!

I think it’s gonna be awesome. I just hope it gets completed in time. At the current rate, i’m kind of concerned. With supply chain the way it is, I wonder if The slowness is due to waiting on something to arrive…

The problem is...

much of China, where many of the electronic components originate, is still shut down which is why supply chain and price escalation issues still persist in construction. In fact, it is one of the biggest challenges contractors are facing.
