If these receivers of ours continue to struggle...then you figure you have to find guaranteed ways to get Mafah and Shipley the ball in space.

May not need to do it against Furman... but against tougher opponents...it should open more opportunities for other players on offense. Doesn't seem we have pure game changing game-breakers on offense this year. We are not quite sure how much Randall can get done....... though he is still young and of course coming off that injury.

the reason it doesn't seem like Shipley/Mafah are being.....

utilized much is because our passing game isn't where it needs to be due to BOTH DJ and the WRs.


in our 2015-2019 run we could always depend on the pass to open up the run........not vice versa. We're not built on the OLine to run to set up the pass. While DJ isn't DW4 or TL16, our WRs are not even close to being Nuk, Mike Williams, Higgins, Healthy Ross, etc....

our receivers lack speed, separation, fight on 50/50s, and catch ability that we're used to seeing from a WR.

Scott was a MASSIVE loss in more ways than just WR dvelopmnt

.......he had the personality on the recruiting trail, the play calling input during games, and the fire on the sideline.
