The root of the problem is the committee is an UNACCOUNTABLE BODY

When you have an elected, unaccountable body of decision makers, things never end well. I mean the committee claims to be accountable to their constantly changing criteria, and they may secretly be accountable to their handlers, but they have zero real world accountability. Even most government officials are accountable to the people, but this mystical college football committee is not accountable to anyone and they have a blank check to enforce the will of their posse.

They are accountable- to ESPN. And by extension the SEC.

Where's the proof that the CFP Committee or the CFP organization is beholden to ESPN?
Unless I have amnesia - Clemson has fared very well with the CFP Committee during the 4 team CFP era and we sure as heck ain't a darling of the SEC and their main mouthpieces on the ESPN networks.
By the way - who is the only poll to have the current Clemson team in the top 25? It's not the AP or the Coaches polls but the CFP poll.... guess they don't hate the ACC and Clemson after all because they are the only ones giving our 8-4 Tiger team any benefit of the doubt as being a top 25 team.

They let Clemson in because they already had an SEC team in. This only happened because the door was getting shut on the SEC. If Texas did not have the head-to-head against Alabama, it would have been:
Michigan Washington Alabama (in Sugar Bowl btw) FSU
The committee should have had Mich, Wash, FSU, and Texas... but picking Mich, Wash, Alab, and FSU would have been less of a travesty than what they picked.

Very true. Also, that FSU wasnt that good. The 12 teams will help next year, but we also need more qualifies people deciding. Should be all former coaches and athletes imo.

Tell us how you would "elect" this committee to make it "accountable". LOL, who would the voters be?
My guess is you either won't answer or your answer will be so silly it will make everyone laugh.

For starters their votes need to be made public. At least then they would individually be accountable to the public. Was that funny enough for you?

Hello? Earth to college football fans.
The committees mandate is to make subjective decisions.
The selection process is entirely subjective.
This election process is not objective.
They carried out their mandate.
Quit crying and watch the next game on TV.
