The well has run dry

ESPN has run dry, there is no more money to increase TV rights contracts with any conference.
The ACC cannot negotiate its way out of the GOR for more money with ESPN.
If teams leave the ACC for other conferences there will not be a increase of payout for those conferences. Each team will take a smaller piece of the pie.
ESPN is on shaky ground financially and if the kingdom fails so will ALL of the contracts with them.
Will there be a total collapse of ESPN, probably not. Is there more blood in the turnip, absolutely not.
Should Clemson stay or go, my opinion is they need to get out of the Tobacco Road run ACC. But also realize there is not a limitless pot of gold called ESPN.

I largely agree with your comment, but this hasn't been a "Tobacco Road-run ACC" in twenty years.

Here's hoping ESPN goes belly up and a non political sports network appears.

Clemson is in a tough situation.
Hopefully the leaders will make some good decisions.

If ESPN was to default on their contracts due to bankruptcy, that would cause a huge reset for all of the major conferences. Maybe that would be a good thing all around. It could reset the money stage, lessen money available for NIL and maybe even bring the race for the highest-paid coaching staff back to reality. Just spit-balling, I'm sure it's not that simple.

College is much like pro football, the future is fading instead of growing, the NCAA is spineless, we need a new organization for college sports.

It is not the actual monetary amount that will sink Clemson,

it is the DIFFERENTIAL amount between us and the BIG and SEC schools going forward.

I wouldn't care if ALL the tv deals got blown up and reset, as long as the dollars were equalized between the conferences.

Would love to see ESPN swimming in Bankruptcy. Love it.***

ESPN began to slide when they went WOKE a few years ago and became the Sports Information Arm for the Democrat Party in the USA. Disney/ABC/ESPN are run by radical liberals with an agenda that most normal, sports loving Americans do not agree with at all.
