These are my opinions regard Clemson Football, Dabo, his staff and players

A lot of the adversities Dabo , his coaches and the players are going through IMO are unrelated to how Dabo runs the program. I believe it has more to do with the numerous coaching changes with in college athletics, and changes in the flow of money along with team’s jump to another conference. NIL and the TP are major game changes to. If you look at UGA they did not become so dominant until NIL came along. We know Kirby has always walked a fine line when it comes to running a clean program. Athens is not much different from Clemson. But I do believe their boosters have a different ideas about recruiting and players and the $100 handshake. I call UGA and other programs Booster Image and Likeness for the benefit of recruiting and current players. UGA boosters have always very generous. I believe Clemson boosters have character and integrity than most any other college program.

The changes in college football have greatly affected our program. Dabo and his staff have not forgotten how to coach. During the teen years we were able to land 2 QB’s that come along once in a generation or two. Along with those QB’s DW and TL we had 4 or 5 of the best WR’s in CF. Tee Higgins and Mike Williams could catch almost every pass thrown their way. We had ETN, and an awesome defense. There was also Sammy Watkins, Hunter Renfrow and many other Elite level talented players. We have some really good players now. But we don’t have a Tee Higgins or a Mike Williams. During the teens we had that elite talent. Players wanted to come to Clemson. NIL changed that. Parents and recruits have become more greedy. What made Clemson stand out is not as important to kids. Now they see $$$$$ dollars.

With positive fan support, and some changes at Clemson and in college athletics I believe we will reach that level again. I support and trust Dabo and his staff. As fans we need to appreciate our many accomplishments and support the HC that brought them to Clemson.

Dabo set new standards and new ideas running a football program. Now many other programs are coping what Clemson was doing. The big changes came with NIL and the TP as that I believe has affected our recruiting and talent level.

It’s unfair to blame the coaches for dropping passes, fumbles, running the wrong play or the wrong passing route or lineman missing blocks, missed tackles, and at times lack of enthusiasm. The players need to accept some responsibility. You can coach them but since TL and ETN went to the NFL some of the talented recruits we use to get are now looking for the team who can help them get the most out of NIL. Plus money each team receives from TV contracts play a factor in a programs success.

IMO Fan support during adversity is big factor that recruits and current players see. Other HC’s use that negativity to recruit against Clemson. With what I have read on Tigernet, we have given other programs a lot of negative material to use in recruiting.

We can either support Dabo, his staff and the team or constantly criticize them, which I think makes it more difficult to overcome adversity. If we support our coaches and players I believe it will help to work through these difficult times.

In 15 years Dabo’s teams have won 2 National Championships, multiple ACC titles, played for the NC 5 or 6 times, as HC his team beat OSU giving Urban Meyer his only shut out loss during his college career as a HC. Dabo’s teams have won 10 or more games over 10 to 12 years. Now that we are struggling some want Dabo fired, or other coaches fired, players benched and more. The Team, and Coaches need our support now more than ever.

What one of your kids was the QB, WR or a defensive player. Think about how you would feel if you son was criticized everyday for his performance on the field. I hope fans will try to put things in perspective. Through my own adversities I have learned it’s only a game. It’s not a life or death experience. It’s not a tragic incident in your life. I don’t like losing either but I have learned that the sun will come up the next day.

I agree this season has been disappointing but I have Hope for better times ahead. I believe in and Support Dabo, his staff and the current players and the future recruits. I do think a blue collar player like Hunter Renfrow could add alot to this team. I also know the it’s very difficult to sustain elite status for 15 years. And the last thing I want to point out is that Dabo is the most successful HC who has been at Clemson. IMO he deserves our support during these tuff times. Because of Dabo we have many more trophies under his leadership. Let’s give Dabo time to rebuild under the new changes that have caused chaos in college athletics.

Good morning to everyone and have a great day.

Well written.

I think it was after we first beat Alabama in the National Championship game that the critics attacked Nick Saban for trying to maintain a running attack - first - and passing second. Saban himself finally admitted he had top reinvent himself. And, he did.

Let's hope Dabo has the courage to modify his approach and gets similar results as Saban.

Thank you for the compliment. You made some great points as well. With college football changing so rapidly HC’s need PR staff as well as staff to keep HC’s updated on up coming changes and what Coaches can do to be more competitive. They actually need an advisor to work with all of the coaches. I am sure more is needed to remain at the top of rapid world of college football. It’s now a business now on a corporate level.

When the NCAA I would like to see them would set amount regarding NlL income. If an athlete makes a certain amount of money he or she should have to pay their on tuition. This would free up money for non athletes to receive financial assistance or help less financially secure programs.

Have a great day !

The way I see it, the re-emergence of Tennesse and UNC means we are missing out on recruits in our region that they are now getting. There are only so many players to go around.

by the same token, when they make comments like, were are working with what we have, sure, but it is their responsibility to land and develop the players, so that excuse never held much water with me.
