Things that make you go hhmmmm?

Feb 1, 2019, 4:05 PM

Just wondering if I'm getting this right. Missouri gets a pretty intense punishment for infraction that a tutor finished tests for players. It's not that I disagree but rather the lopsided penalty hand-outs. If you will recall a few years ago North Carolina had some serious infractions, was found guilty and a minor hand-slapping was handed down. So am I wrong to say you can get away with anything if the commissioner of the ACC is a graduate of your school? This is getting ridiculous what NC can get away with. Yes, I know some might say let it go as they stink right now but that won't be for long. I guess favoritism is allowed even in the NCAA. If you'll note there are schools that can do no wrong (UGA, FSU and Alabama) and schools that can't look the wrong way without getting nailed (Auburn, Clemson, Miami, Mississippi)

Missouri had athletic department issues...

UNC had accreditation issues. The NCAA has no control over accreditation.

UNC offered courses that were extremely easy to

all of its students. It wasn’t impermissible because it wasn’t an advantage for just the student athletes, any student could enroll. In Missouri’s case, there was a tutor completing work for the benefit of atheletes. It wasn’t just an absurdly easy class, it was cheating.

I am not disagreeing on your premise but do not think the huge dollars UNC BB generates had nothing to do with the outcomes . One would need to look at ratio of non atheletes in said classes to get a real picture of why it was set up too. Follow the $$$$$.
