Let's go!!!! Props to brownell for working hard and finding the right fit. It's hard to find a player who wants to come to a team to serve as a back up. Huge get on a big need.
I know he played lesser competition, but in his highlights he looks as good, if not better than middlebrooks around the basket. We shall see!

I think this is an underrated pick up given the need to have depth at the center spot. Welcome to Tiger Town!

Just when you think Brownlee couldn't do anything dumber, he goes and does something like this...and TOTALLY redeems himself.

UNC-W coaches and UNC-G players. Can you really expect more for $3 million a year?

lets see. Sure, we need t5eh depth. BUt that doesn't make him a steal. I mean, his stats were not overwhelming at all, not even close. And he was playing against lesser quality players. I'm happy and I repeat, we need the depth. But lets see how much he can contribute when conference games start..

Criers going to cry.
Every team has transfers. Just because you go into the portal to snag some players doesn't mean you've stopped recruiting high schoolers. Quit being so extreme

Ha ha ha ha this guy scored seven points a game in the southern conference and can't jump. You think getting a guy like this is what a a coach being paid 3 million a year Should be doing?

We lose a big man transfer to a high major conference opponent (a rival at that), we get a mid major role player in return (from the school we hired our coach from)... I see no improvement in the trade off and the likelihood that this is a step back to just a big body for fouls.
Come on in big man and play like your hair is on fire...
Go Tigers!

Have you commented that we got Jack Clark who was a starter for nc state? Nice getting a starter from a high major conference team that made the tourney.

Actually, you should have made it this year. Winning 20 plus games is normally the ticket, but for some reason you were left out. I didn't get that.

No, we shouldn’t have. We lost to not one, but two of the worst teams in all of power 5 basketball. Then, we got destroyed at home by another very bad basketball team.

And win the ACC tournament. Brownell is not recruiting freshmen because he knows it's do-or-die time for him.

A Brownell Bro claims every single player we’ve ever brought in under Brownell is an upgrade. If it were remotely true we’d be working on multiple Final Fours and Brad would be viewed as the next Coach K in the ACC. Then there is reality.

As a Clemson grad living in Greensboro, I went to 3 UNCG games last year. This pick up will in no way help our team. He wasn't particularly good against SoCon competition. He won't be good against ACC competition. Note the Furman game where he played 26 minutes and had a whopping 6 points and 3 rebounds....

and watch the other 4 players shoot 3 pointers and run back to play defense, leaving him to rebound against 3 opposing players. He most definitely will have a role on this team.

Brownell is going to let one guy try to get an offensive rebound next year? I’ll believe that when I see it.

This is exactly what I have been saying. The stats don't say anything great about him. He's a minutes filler, it seems. I'd love to see more, but not counting on it.

Yes, no sh!t.
We lost our backup C due to transfer.
We picked up a backup center in the portal.
We didn't need a center that would take away minutes from our best player. We needed somebody that would back him up and play 10 minutes a game.
I think middlebrooks had greater potential, but middlebrooks wasn't exactly a world beater against the crappy competition we played, even when he was starting at the beginning of the year. Bas Leyte is 3 years older than middlebrooks.
He's likely a bit more polished around the basket, but the jury is still out on that. Either way, He was recruited to be a BACK UP. He just needs to play his 12 minutes a game, rebound, defend, and make layups from sweet dimes from chase
