It's almost like all Clemson announcers have to sound 'partial' to the other team to be qualified... for Men's sports. Ex. we are 'fortunate' on certain plays whereas the opposing teams just make good plays.

Oh Ron smith isn’t he the same guy who mostly does softball? I can’t stand him if I think of who it is. Glad I go to most games and don’t have to listen. Except if I got to the bathroom which they have the radio on in there.

Circa 1992 there was a CBS Sports trailer parked outside the old student union on campus. It let you watch a call by a CBS announcer and then put on the headset and recreate it in your own style. My mate who lived across the hall in Johnstone and participated in it. I was PBP and he was the color analyst.

We chose a great catch ny Kirby Puckett up against the wall which was hit by Ron Gant in the 1991 World Series. The legendary Jack Buck made the call for CBS. At the end of it, they gave us VHS cassette of us calling the play.

Anyway, I sounded like the guy who called the game tonight, but with a deeper voice. Lots of enthusiasm and screaming, but totally unprofessional. In my head, I thought I would sound like Vin Scully but that tape proved otherwise.
